If the Niners can't get Andrew Luck in the draft, which is a very distinct possibility, do you want to see the Niners take Donovan McNabb? I think he might be a pretty good fit for them.

But they've gotta get somebody else obviously.<div>
</div><div>McNabb would be a good move I think if they can't get luck. They might even want to take a chance on Mallet or somebody else, but obviously, Luck would be the #1 choice.</div>

had more than enough time to develop and he simply isn't good enough to be a full time starter in the NFL......I think McNabb would fit in perfectly with their offense......He'd definitely be worth a shot........

He would have a good run game andsome prettydecent WR's. I think they need to try and get McNabb if they can't get Luck. They don't need a big, slow, bulky QB in San Fran, so that takesMallett and Gabbert if he leaves early out of the conversation. Locker seems like too big a risk for them. After that, Newton is about the only QB that would go in the early rounds that I would take, and I don't know if they would take Newton.

If they get McNabb, my sleeper pick for them for me would be to getGreg McElroy in the later rounds. Can make the throws, usually doesn't make dumb throws, and has good enough speed to make something happen when the pocket breaks down. He's more talented than JPW and Croyle, and I think he would be worth a late round pick as someone that could start as a backup andchallenge for a spot in a few years after McNabb. He would have a good running game to help him out too.

I think we need to get rid of Croom v2.0. The teamdoesn'tseem to be totally prepared defensively for games. This leads to too much pressure on the offense.<div>Secondly, we have to get a new QB. I don't think McNabb is the answer. Too much of a short term answer. And personally, I don't think he even a good short term option.</div><div>
</div><div>For defense to have so much raw talent, they have been prettyporous. Maybe its the d-coor's fault, I don't know.</div>

My personal best case scenario would be for the 49ers to get Andrew Luck and Jim Harbaugh as the coach. I imagine that Harbaugh would use similar terminology that he uses at Stanford, which should help Luck with the transition to the NFL, which since he would be with the 49ers, he would be expected to start right away. Being more familiar with the offense than the other players would also help establish him as a leader. As good as he is, that's still a difficult transition.

My fear is the 49ers will manage to win enough games that they won't be in a position to draft Luck. If that is the case, it might be best to get a vet like a McNabb and then draft someone- even a McElroy and develop them.

But Luck would be perfect for the 49ers, and the 49ers seem like a perfect fit for him. San Francisco/Stanford, they have some weapons on offense, and some good young o-linemen, and a very good defense.

Rather than getting McNabb or maybe Kyle Orton.

The draft position is really a question mark, because they could land anywhere from 5th-12th. I think Luck and Locker will both be gone by the time the 49ers come up. footballfuture.com has them taking Mallet, I think thats a pretty good guess.

perhaps Luck will pull an Eli Manning and demand to play for the 49ers. That is probably their best shot at getting him. Or trading up, which would cost a lot.

Someone like McNabb would be good to mentor a rookie like Luck or Mallett but I don't want them pinning their playoff hopes on a rookie QB next season. The Niners have the talent to make the playoffs now and don't need to waste time losing games with a rookie. I loved Singletary as a player but I think he was one of the worst coaches in NFL history. They always looked unprepared and shot themselves in the foot right out of the gate just about every week.
