That is a surprising scoreNot 4a but Kings Mtn over E. Rutherford 7-4 surprised me.
May have players on basketball teamThat is a surprising score
I gotta say I'm really impressed with Burns so far this year. To have lost 13 seniors and only have 2 starters from last year's team they have looked really good. I mean they are 4-0 with 3 shutouts and have outscored opponents 39-2!
Cherryville will be a powerhouse this year, they are conference favorites by far in my opinion and honestly probably 2A favorites in the state. West Lincoln is usually competitive in baseball and I hear Cramer may be pretty good as well. That's definitely an impressive start to the season. How is Burns conference when it comes to baseball?
I’ll take it. I don’t think Pisgah has ever set at #1 preseason, in-season, or postseason so even though it’s only three games we’re in uncharted waters for us.Here is top 10 in 4A baseball according to Maxs Preps. It’s possible some info hasn’t updated yet. But here they are.
1) Pisgah 3-0
2) Stuart Cramer 3-0
3) East Duplin 3-0
4) Red Springs 2-0
5) Burns 5-0
6) Uwharrie Charter Academy
7) Randleman 3-0
8) West Stanly 3-0
9) First Flight 2-0
10) Central Davidson
That conference is very very top heavy with Burns, Cramer & Cherryville. Could very well have 2 state champions out of that conference this year. And really next year too. Not sure about Cramer but Burns and Cherryville are pretty young. Burns only has 2 seniors.Stuart Cramer is solid this year. If they hit they will be a hard out for anyone. They have a dugout full of arms, led by Nic Stutzman, a Virginia commit.
Burns has West Lincoln at home tomorrow night but then start a brutal stretch.3/18
West Stanly beat a good team East Rowan 5-1.
According to Max Preps West Stanly is 4th in the 4A State. Burns is 1 in the 4A State.
Tough stretch for sure. SC will test their bats depending on which arms they see. I assume they will get Stutzman (94-96) and Rodkin (89-90) as starters.Burns has West Lincoln at home tomorrow night but then start a brutal stretch.
3/24 vs Stuart Cramer
3/26 @ Stuart Cramer
4/1 vs Crest
4/14 @ Cherryville
4/16 vs Cherryville
That 5 game stretch will say just where Burns really is but I certainly think they are top 5 in 4A. They have fantastic pitching and quite a bit of power. And they are back to being very young again with only 2 seniors this year.
I wasn't able to go last night but I just saw that Burns actually started their freshman pitcher last night against Cramer. This kid is gonna be somebody to watch the next few years.Burns 7
Stuart Cramer 6
Bulldogs walk it off in the bottom of the 7th to move to 10-0!
