Since there was some confusion over the past couple of days on brackets for 4A North, here are the scores from the quarterfinals and the semifinal match ups. VHSL has also fixed their bad bracket they had previously posted that caused the majority of the confusion.

-Quarterfinals, Feb. 24

Chancellor 72, Millbrook 59

William Fleming 47, Fluvanna 22

Charlottesville 41, Carroll County 31
Loudoun County 62, Courtland 30

-Semifinals, Feb. 26

William Fleming at Chancellor, 7

Loudoun County at Charlottesville, 7

-Final, Feb. 28

Hold on... So the Roanoke times was wrong too yesterday with their article about how the 4a randomly seeded teams? This was an absolute mess. Once again I should have listened to you and trusted myself. Thanks vhsl

I'm not sure what randomly seeded means exactly, but it's as we've said all along...

Conference 21 - Champion vs Conference 22 - Runner Up
Conference 23 - Champion vs Conference 24 - Runner Up

Conference 22 - Champion vs Conference 21 - Runner Up
Conference 24 - Champion vs Conference 23 - Runner Up

The only thing "random" about it was where the games were played when a Conference Champion plays another Conference Champion after the first round, but that was set at the beginning of the school year. That isn't based on any win/loss record, but just based on where they had placed the designations prior to the teams being filled in. The brackets were always as above and were the same as other team sports (outside of football) like volleyball. They intentionally keep conference champions on the opposite side of the bracket from their conference runner up, so "random seeding" even within 1 - 4 and then 5 - 8 is impossible.

Once again poor communication and then you have people out here trying to make up things to make sense of the situation as they go along because its not being communicated properly. Sad thing is the coaches were even confused so the tournament director should have stepped up and said something. I don't even want to get into the fiasco that was about to happen in 5A South boys because the tournament director was mixed up himself. Just crazy can I have the old system back?? Thanks for your help.

The two winners tomorrow night meet on Friday night for the 4A North Regional Championship. The location will be dependent on who the two participants are, but will be at one of the schools, not a neutral location as I believe most of the other divisions are doing. The two winners tomorrow move on to the State Final Four (semifinals) with seeding based on who wins the Friday game. The winner will be the one seed from the North and will play the two seed from the South and the loser will be the two seed from the North and play the one seed from the South. The semifinal games are played next weekend at a neutral super site hosted in the region of the higher seed. Those super sites along with which schools are mapped to each site are posted on the VHSL website. Days and times of the games won't be determined until all six divisions have finished both their boys and girls regional championships this weekend and they know how many games they need to fit into each site. The winner of the semi final games play for the State Championship on March 13 at 6:30 at The VCU Siegel Center.

Here is the link to the super site mapping for the State Final Four games...
