Pisgah has improved every week of the season so that’s good. East Henderson aside we’re probably in for a dogfight to pull out a win in every game remaining on our schedule. The game against Franklin this Friday should make for a good one.
That Mountain 8 conference is tough top to bottom….similar to the Western Foothills. It makes for great action every week because you just don’t know who will win.

The “Hateful Eight” conference!😂

Good stuff!

Best case 4-0, worst case 0-4. I know what you're getting at...

One game at a time. Right now we must beat Foard.

East Lincoln and Hickory are losses(do your best), but Bandys you all will have to play 4 quarters and then some. They can ball a little bit(just a little bit) Newton bring your A game anyway incase they decide to play lights out.

You got Lexington as a 7 AND a 16 seed

typo?

Also the east has nobody outside of ED and WC, the rest of the good/decent teams out east are from the west, so the west has a 98% chance of claiming this.

They are all winnable. It's all about matchups each week. I know everyone expects 2-2 when you look at the last 4 games...but we're confident and starting to roll and gel really well. Our kids have a ton of fight...and we've just been beating teams up the last 3 weeks up front...opposing players taking themselves out and not wanting to finish. We have some nastiness that Maiden hasn't had in a long time.

For sure. I anticipate this one this Friday to be PHYSICAL on both sides.

Franklin gave Brevard all they wanted this past Thursday right up until midnight.
Glad it wasn’t my team, that’s past my bed time.🤣
Brevards biggest problem the past few weeks has been playing flat, they've played good but very flat. Hopefully that changes this Friday. The 9:30 kickoff definitely didnt help matters this past Friday but Franklin is definitely solid. Every conference game should be somewhat competitive aside from east Henderson

I like your fighting spirit GD. Yes they are all winnable, just like on any random day you could end up with pigeon poop on your shoulder.

what are the names of these teams?

I'm not going to go through all of them but some that I think will drop:
  • North Surry - Other than one team (Alleghany), they have played a soft schedule. Not even sure how good Alleghany is, but should know more about them this week as they play a high ranked 3A Starmount.
  • Stuart Cramer has had an easy schedule. Their OWP is .25
  • T.W. Andrews will drop. They have played a softer schedule. Their OWP is .2833
  • Carver will drop. They haven't played a real team yet.
  • Wilkes Central will probably drop in the next couple weeks with at least two losses coming.
  • Jordan-Matthews has only beaten bad teams. OWP is .2 and that is only because they played (and lost) to Providence Grove.
I'm sure there are more, but that is enough to shake it up pretty good on both sides.

Stuart Cramer definitely will drop. Look at who they've played 🤣. We'll find out what they really are the next two weeks.

I would assume they would lose both of those games, but I'm interested to see what they do against West Lincoln in a couple weeks. Could be the difference in a 7-3 or 6-4 season and make a big difference in their RPI. I don't see SC beating Lincolnton either.

Even with the easier schedule, it does look like the new head coach has them headed in the right direction.

Adjusted above - the 16 seed is Nash Central.

Lexington was 16th in 4A RPI...I just looked one column too far over when I was putting the bracket together.

I've seen Stuart Cramer up close and personal all season. My son plays there. Their top 11 is stout, both ways. If they stay healthy people are going to be surprised how well they fare. Aside from the NOGA game they have won the way they should have.

I expect a loss this week @ Shelby. They still need to learn how to play in big games but don't be shocked with a 1 or 2 loss season.

They have several college recruits on this team in production positions.

JV has looked pretty good as well, only losing (1) game at Huss.

Burns and Lincolnton will have something to say about that. Just my opinion.

I stand by what I said earlier in the week about SC after watching them play Shelby last night. I think they beat Burns and Lincolnton in close games and finish the regular season with (1) loss.

oh oh
oh oh

and here we have fighting words. One of the former mill village oracles has stated that the K9 teams will suffer defeat to his little brother.

Haven’t seen them play but have seen Shelby and Burns. What makes you think they’ll beat Burns and Lincolnton? Have you seen both of those teams play?

They are a good football team and was even with Shelby at 22 all in the 3rd quarter after being down 22-0. This was an unfamiliar spot for them. They aren't used to be able to compete and Shelby was a bad matchup. The weakness of SC's team is the secondary and Shelby was able to exploit that.

Burns is going to run it right at them which is a much better matchup for SC. SC has athletes to put up points as well.

I've seen Burns this year, albeit, against EG. I have not seen L-Town and know they are improved and a good team.

Just my take. They may lose both of them but wouldn't be surprised to see them win both.

I can promise you Shelby was not expecting the game they got last night.

Stayed at home due to the weather and the games being moved up. I listened to the SC/Shelby game. SC scored twice on offense. A special teams td and a defense td kept them in it. It seemed they threw it to the 6’5” kid and relied on that. Run defense couldn’t stop Shelby’s running game. Almost 200 yards in penalties killed Shelby. Shelby had more speed and athleticism and I believe Burns and Lincolnton will too.

Gladly.... I said they may lose both. What else am I to say. But if you watched the game Thursday night and watched the game last night you are an idiot if you dont think SC isnt headed in the right direction. Stanford was in attendance last night to see their TE play. So kudos to your RB for shining in a good spot.
