Bought our Sammy 4k in 2016 after our plasma failed. Hoping that by 2025 most programming, esp sports would be 4k. Rarely has that happened. Who's fault is it for 4k not catching with the networks esp ESPN?

YTTV had the option to watch the NC game in 4k the other night. I chose the 4k feed. It was weird, during commercial breaks they did not cut the feed and show commercials. Announcer Audio was cut but instead of commercials it just showed the feed from one of the cameras placed in the corner of the showing the entire field, Jumbotron and ambient crowd noise

Good to know, I've got 2, and I guess a 720 signal. In a bunch of years, I'll buy something else that won't work,
because of technology, bottlenecks.
Ha ha.

How much of a difference could you tell?

Sounds like back during the days of the giant satellites dishes except they didn’t cut the announcer audio during breaks. I can confirm Ron Franklin didn’t like cowbells….

NBC and FOX 4K feeds are noticeably better but the rest of the claims aren’t really different to me.

In my opinion and experience and minimal knowledge - it depends on the size of your television. A 65" is most common now, I think, and you can't really tell much difference in a regular 1080p and 4K HDR. The 4K might be brighter, but the resolution mostly isn't noticeable unless you look closely. It'll be more noticeable on really large screen sets where the pixels are larger.

Probably will never get 4K broadcast, especially since streaming is becoming such a big thing. Streaming is where 4K will reside.

I watched the Super Bowl in 4K last year on YouTube TV. It was noticeably better, even though I remember it was just upscaled.

When searching this topic, apparently Tubi is airing this year's SB in 4K.

Yeah, a lot of the big sports events are streamed in 4K. Problem is, you have to stream it, which means you have to have that streaming service and you have to watch it live, no DVR. Too much of a hassle for me.
