Poku, 325 lb? , 3 year starter at ECU. We have lost some highly recruited guys in the portal. I know ya’ll have discussed this at length on other threads. Assuming we decided not to pay our guys to stay. Was hoping Josiah had stayed. Some of the new guys look promising but still looks like we have a way to go to have a competitive OL.

Got to coach them up. Hopefully, Clements is up to it.

Poku! I like this kid. Watched him at ECU. I was hoping we would get him. Can play G or T, on the right side.

He did not allow a single sack in 2025, had very few penalties, and shown great durability with 26 straight starts heading into the portal.

That said, he's more steady Eddie than star, and hasn't played against top P4 talent.

I think he's a great pick up. We'll see if he can step up to P4. He has the raw strength, size, and agility.

Bama was after him and the OT from NC state I think

We have brought it veteran all conference guys over 300 lbs.. guys that can say I gave up 1 sack last yr or less than 10 in my career. Guys who have graded out much better than what we have had. SEC Defense is fast.. we will have to see how they play but there is no data to suggest we are bringing in lesser talent than we lost.

I get the feeling the OL that left were not invited to return. Not sure how that works with NCAA rules (such as they may exist in 2026). But it might have been “you can stay but we won’t pay and you won’t play”.

We really aren't going to know until the season gets here, but I like the OL moves.

+5-8=-3 Could still use another one or two. But I do love the dude from NC State. He’s a plug and play.

Unless they have terrible attitudes, the response should have been, "watch me get better - then I will play."

I wonder if they were given the chance?

I’m afraid the days of that ethic being common are long gone. Plus they’ve already been given ‘the chance’.

In think we came in this past year expecting Superman to plow the road and just glide on cruise control; players and coaches.

I’m friggin energized with this new influx across the board. I think a valuable lesson was learned and I sense fire in bellies going forward; I expect this team to come out spitting nails. Not a prediction, just a sense.

Does the sense of "fire in bellies" come from all of your time spent with the team?

I think your sense is more a "desire" than a "sense".

Nothing wrong with admitting we're fans on a message board, and not actually working out with the team.

At least, for most of us its not.
