I don’t think we’ve paid enough attention to the fact that this baseball team just won it’s 50th game of the season (20 SEC wins).

For perspective, that is only the 5th time in program history that we’ve won 50. The other 50 win teams: 1985 (50-15), 1989 (54-15), 1990 (50-21), and 2013 (51-20).

That’s pretty strong company. Regardless of what happens from here on, enjoy this team.

It’s a significant accomplishment and I’m proud of them.

And this team reached 50 wins with only 13 losses. Against a much tougher schedule than any of the others except for 2013. I don’t know how far this team will go, but you can make a real good case this is the best team we’ve ever had.

A lot of baseball left, but maybe so. I’ve always said that the 1989 team is our best ever, and they didn’t get to Omaha. They had a bad weekend at the wrong time, but they didn’t have many weaknesses.

That team actually had 3 bad weekends in a row to end the season. One of the great mysteries of the universe how that happened.
