With the results today (ND over Marquette, USF over UConn, Arkansas beating Ole Miss), a win over Tennessee is likely to catapult us to 53rd. I think we are in if we finish in the top 50. That will take at least one, probably two wins next week in addition to beating Tennessee.
Could use some help from Georgia Tech. They are down 6 at halftime against Virginia Tech. Rhode Island is down 15 early at a horrible UMass team. UAB has a tough game at UTEP tonight and Dayton faces a decent SLU team. Arizona State is up on UCLA early. Washington and Seton Hall have should win road games tonight.
According to Lunardi, we are the fifth team out behind:
Memphis (won at Tulsa)
UAB (at UTEP)
Dayton (at Saint Louis)
Arizona State (beating UCLA)
with these four being teams that have to fall:
Notre Dame (won vs. Marquette, probably clinched bid)
UConn (lost against USF. 14th loss probably knocks them out)
Rhode Island (currently losing to a horrible UMass team)
San Diego State (at a horrible Air Force team tonight)
We need UAB to lose to UTEP and either Dayton or Arizona State to drop their game tonight. I think UConn is out - they will have 15 losses by Thursday. A URI loss would be huge, as would a SDSU loss. A win over Tennessee gets us back in the last four in or one of the first two out.
Bonus game: Alabama beating Auburn will erase a sub-100 loss. However, they are likely to drop back below 100 after the SEC Tournament.
