Tarboro hosts Hunt on Thursday night with their 2nd of 3 straight games against 5A opponents. Don’t know much about Hunt, but hoping the Vikings can put on a good show in their home opener before they head to Havelock.

I do know HUNT is extremely young. Hopefully we are able to get those young players in some difficult situations, and cash in on mistakes. I think many projected Rocky Mount to be a better team than Hunt, but I am still going to say we are going to have to play better than last night to win this game. With that said, I think we clean up a lot of the mistakes from last night.
This staff has been here many times before. I have faith they'll make the right adjustments heading into this game. Hunt is solid and I think will be a challenge. But I expect tarboro to play much better than last night. Hopefully it was just traditional first game jitters and lack of not having a jamboree.

Young Warriors aim high as Hunt enters revamped Big East
Hunt High’s football team enters the new 5-A/6-A Big East Conference with its youngest roster in years, but Coach Juan Jackson says the Warriors are determined to compete and uphold their winning tradition.
Hopefully the penalties are cleaned up(which I think it will). Oline plays better & defense is ready to play b/c looking back at Friday’s game, we have to get better! I definitely have faith in the guys for sure. RM will be a good team this year! That may be the only L the have this year honestly
I expect Hunt to win games like this next season, with them being so young. But I do think that they'll keep it respectable. Tarboro 22-14
First time Hunt and Tarboro have played since the mid 90s I believe. Once upon a time they were in the same conference

Either 1999 or 2000 was the last year of the conference, I think. Could be off by a season or two. 1998 was my senior year at SWE, and playing against these teams was a battle every week. Southern Nash (with Julius Peppers at RB), SWE, and Tarboro were middle of the road. Beddingfield and Fike were just bad. Hunt, Bertie, and Hertford County were juggernauts. Bertie won a couple of state championships in this era ('95, '00). HC was usually the only team that could hang with or beat them, but couldn't beat them when it mattered. HC and Bertie were the only teams in the east that could beat Hunt. I remember getting my clock cleaned during a 42-6 loss at home on a 5 yard slant vs HC. Helmet flew off, and once I got up, I jogged towards the HC bench before my teammates redirected me to our bench lol. It was definitely a big boy conference.
I've talked with two guys this morning who didn't realize that we play tomorrow night. Hope we can get the word out that it is tomorrow night, not Friday.
Week 2 is here. It's crazy to think we were just so eager for the season to start, and here we are already at game day for week 2. Hope the Vikings come out hungry and take care of business tonight.

Not overlooking them. I just think Tarboro will come out clicking tonight after last week.
With the schedule Tarboro has they can't overlook anyone. Well maybe two teams but that's it. But in the long run, it'll definitely help Tarboro come playoff time. Hunt will definitely be hungry coming into this one.
Tarboro up 28-10 at half. Hunt has a good offense. Tarboro looking much better than last week.
Tarboro 34-17 final score. Keep an eye on hunt in 5a east this year and going forward. They have a sophomore running back that is very good.
Even though the score doesn’t reflect it, most Tarboro fans feel hunt was better than Rocky Mount. We played much better tonight, but Hunt has some very nice pieces of offense. If we played tonight like we didn’t against Rocky Mount it would’ve been 3 to 4 scores.
This is spot on. Hunt has some talent. They will be a legit contender next year.
Very young and will be a handful going forward. That RB they have is a sophomore and he's good. They may very well make a impact in 5a playoffs this year.
Yea, assuming these guys still together and all come back, they may be a problem in 5A next year
I agree about that. May be to young to make a deep run this year. But next couple years, wouldn't surprise me. I think they'll be a tough out in playoffs this year though
