I would expect close to 20,000 if no rain.. There will be a large walk up crowd for the game and then the Sugarland groupies..

Minus the cost of the band, lighting, security, and the lost of a full football field for the football game is it worth it? To me it's about football and not music. I think the guys on the football team would rather see 34k rather then 15k. Sugar Land must not be that good if the tickets are only 25.00 and only 15k sold.

My wife is a huge Sugarlandfan, and I've seen them before. I've also taken the brown acid before, and it's not as bad as you may haveheard.

if the weather is nice, i expect a big number ...which it is suppose to be great that afternoon/night

most kids don't have disposable income in case it rains, etc.

And I would be willing to bet a lot of people buy tickets tomorrow, so that 15,000 number is going to grow.

on the spring game. I mean the teams will have to switch sides each possession change, but I am pretty sure outside of special circumstances like a turnover that they always started drives at the 25 or 30 yard line in past spring games. So we are looking at a 10-15 yard difference on starting position.

Not to mention that the spring game is only a show for the fans, Dan Mullen has said that yesterday's practice was the last real practice/scrimmage that they could take a lot away from. It's gonna set it up for more scores which will appease those fans that get bored with a defensive struggle. And believe me, there are a ton of people that whine about low scoring games.

For the people whining about it not being their thing and how you are not going because of it, there are also people that would not come to Starkville at all for a glorified practice without there being a concert. My fiancee and I have some friends that are coming to see Sugarland, and I know they would not be interested in coming down for just a scrimmage.

I think the athletic department could obviously improve on this idea next year by maybe separating the two, or offering more economical pricing in the upper deck, or the weekend pass idea. But some of you are batshit crazy expecting perfection on the first attempt by the athletic department. Something like 15,000 people have already bought tickets, no telling how many will walk up and come in. It's going to be quite a bit less than the "40,000"ish people from the past couple of years, but that is the nature of it.

Also some people are pathetic, "I give my donation each year, blah, blah, blah, the school will lose my business if they don't do things my way" (paraphrasing). Its a 17ing donation, the school doesn't owe you **** for it. You don't donate to get your way, you donate because you care about the cause. Trying to hold leverage because you donated $100 bucks is a 17ing dick move.

I definitely think they can improve on it, but nothing is perfect on the first try.

If they pay their money and leave, the university still gets the money. I doubt a whole lot of folks are going to pay the money that aren't planning on going to the concert.

If a bank, or any other business, was writing the check, we'd damn well know it by now. You think they write those checks in secret for the good of the MSU program?

Says the guy with that tough Clint Eastwood avatar. I'm on your side man, keep going with this. Talk some more about how bad our fans are because of a couple of posters on a message board! Keep this up! We are loving it!
