That was an outstanding crowd regardless of circumstances, but knowing it took place after several torrential downpours was awesome. we might need to expand the other south sooner rather than later considering we were over capacity on a rainy night. well done everyone.

Man it would be nice to have a 80k stadium. build it and they will come. I think one reason we are closing the gap in recruiting and things is because we have upgraded our facilities. That has a lot more impact than most people think. of course winning on top of that is just gravy.

80k I think is too much. 60K is about the perfect number for us I think. I'd be happier if they went the NFL route and concentrated their efforts on stadium amenities. Chairback seating and free high speed wifi access for the whole stadium sounds a lot better than extra bleachers.

I literally drove between 25 MPH and 50 MPH due to torrential rain for the majority of the drive from Petal to Vegas for that game and I still can't believe how full our crowd was ...what a great day for me...had my son with me, got to see my daughter who is in Grad school ... newly expanded stadium at capacity, electric atmosphere, beat down an old foe...17ing awesome.

Yeah I know not 80k now but with the growth of msu, I could see that in 10 years. That's if we can keep winning. I do agree with the amenities stuff for right now.

i could see another 5k in there with bleacher seats in the south endzone. something like this wouldnt be the worst in the world assuming attendance will continue to be at a high level:

we were looking for extra tickets and had to buy Standing Room Only tickets when the ticket office (now relocated to the NEZ) opened at 3:30. 55 bucks a pop too for SRO....i badly want to watch a game from the terrace somewhere above maholm's box.

the next phase should include:

chairbacks for all east and west lower level seats (except in visitors section). Removal of the old press box and facilities to be replaced with more suites stretching the length of the stadium. Add a new press box. Bowl in the south end zone on the lower level to add about 5-7k seats.

The next phase should be to even up the West side upper deck to by symmetrical to the East side. Then, add luxury boxes and club seats on either side of the Press Box.

It wasn't long ago that games looked like this every weekend. "Build it and they will come" is a myth. At this point, our stadium is as big as it needs to be.

The terrace of the scoreboard club is set up to be suites for the next expansion. The suite seats would go where the standing rails are now. I don't know how reliable this information is but I heard that we already have a waiting list for at least 6 more end zone suites. As far as upper-decking the new end zone, I heard from a very high source that it is still up in the air as to whether we upper deck the north end zone or put a lower level in the south end zone. I would prefer the latter.

Also, I think it would be pretty cool to open the standing terrace as standing room only but reserve half of that space on each side for scoreboard club members. The only problem is that the only way to access the NE standing terrace at the moment is through the scoreboard club or the east side club level.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this:View attachment 1093

If suites are added, just put another standing terrace on top of them. In the south end zone, what is now the scoreboard club in the north, could be seating for the M-Club folks with a matching terrace and standing room only area.
