A few of us on the board don't have his dick in our mouths. We are taking a wait and see approach... hoping for the best. He hasn't impressed, he has met most people's expectations. This year, injuries or not, will go a long way to forming my opinion of him. Whenever anyone questions Mullen or Cohen at all this board goes nuts and makes personal attacks. I can understand why the Stans lovers, as wrong as they were, have frustrations with the board. But, the facts don't lie on Cohen, the jury should still be out. Everyone on the board liked the Cohen and Mullen hire, but that doesn't mean their weaknesses or struggles shouldn't be questioned.

In all honesty, I guess I feel that now that MSU has FINALLY hired competent coaches in football and baseball, we should do all we can do as fans to support them, as least until it's painfully obvious that it won't work (which is A LONG way away for Mullen and Cohen). I don't see the need to bash them, even on an anonymous message board.

Posters with the mindset of some on this board. We basically took a skeleton crew to Baton Rouge and nearly won the series. We were in all three games and our staff looked outstanding. We had freshmen about to board planes and go home for spring break because they were being red shirted and not traveling and they were sent down with the team to Louisiana and asked to start for us. We are 15-7 with 5 straight home games in Starkville. I am pleased with how we are competing. When we get healthy, we will look a lot better.

Sorry, Jackson,,,,but I'm afraid some folks are just B to B ("born to *****").

They're basically good people, but that's all they know. I,myself, am guility of it at times.

So posters on a message board are the reason we have a historically failing athletic program?
Our Message Boardposters back in the '50's and '60's REALLY stunk.

a home weekend series against App State. They were in the bottom quarter of the league last year. It's too early to tell. But, we accomplished the minimum of what we HAD to do this weekend. It could have been worse, we could have dropped a home series to Auburn.

is irrelevant. That's like comparing football scores and saying- "well, we scored 14 against Auburn, so we should score 7 against Bama". It doesn't work that way.

If you do want to go that route, LSU scored 8 runs off of us this weekend- 2 in extra innings when we pissed the game away on a bloop single and a wild pitch. And 1 of those runs was on a ball that our freshman CF didn't play very well.

Before these injuries, I thought we were going to win this series. It looks like I was probably right about that.

You are right- we did what we had to do at a minimum. Now we have to go back home and beat Alabama A&M.

I glad we won. Hell I went down to red stick and watched and cheered on the dogs but that doesn't change the fact that Cohen is an a-hole.

We should be able to compete well with most clubs and almost winning a series at a ranked LSU with a skeleton showed me that we should be able to compete. I think Kentucky will slow down considerably once league play starts (2006 Bulldogs, I'm thinking... no way they can keep up what they have done... but impressive, to say the least). LSU is a good team, and I expect them to finish the season fairly well. We avoided the sweep, and right now, that is most important. Focus on that next weekend, as well. <div>
</div><div>We have to focus on winning series against South Carolina, Vandy, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee... and focus on at LEAST winning a game against Arkansas and Florida. Do that, I expect us to be above .500 in the league this year. Being able to take a win today was a HUGE boost of confidence for me, and I'm sure even more-so for the team. aGAIN, I stress avoiding sweeps goes much further than most people think. No shame in losing 2-3 in Baton Rouge right now... let's just carry this momentum into the midweek and against Arkansas. <div>
</div><div>As far as the conference goes, I'm thinking the SEC will not be near as top heavy as it has been the past several years... Arkansas and Florida being the only exceptions I have seen so far. The Jury is still out on Kentucky, but I just don't see them being able to sustain this momentum the entire season. We could be very thankful we close with them instead of playing them early on. Ultimately, if there is a shot for us to finish in the top 6, this is the year to get on track to do that. </div></div>

Seriously do you think the message board has anything to do with the 1960's or right now for that matter. Just think a little he's talking about that smart alec, narcissistic, abandon ship attitude that is like a plague in our fan base. Just read into a post before you post something. <div>
</div><div>PS. I honestly hope you were being sarcastic.</div>
