Little girl reported missing Saturday around 7:40pm and found dead in a creek behind Allen County High School less than 30 minutes later. Just no words and Impossible to comprehend.

Edit: not a high school game, rather a little league game. Not that it matters....

Sickening. Coroner just came back and said she was murdered. How does this happen? Makes me sick since my little girl just turned 3 in September.

Helicopter parents get a bad rap, but man, when stuff like this happens it causes you to be like that. This happened literally in a matter minutes. At a place where this stuff doesn't happen.

I just can't imagine.

My gut feeling is that this story is going to get worse before it gets solved.

Horrible. Don't even want to think about it.

You're right, though. I try to be a little Old School with my kids, giving them some room... but when you hear something like this, and imagine yourself turning your back for a few minutes, and then the local news trucks are pulling into the driveway...

just unreal.

Surprised there hasn't been any updates since this morning. Can't imagine what the family is going thru.

My grand daughter is seven and we all go watch her brother play on the fifth grade team. While we are watching the game, my g-daughter goes off to the side of the bleachers with other girls her age and they pretend they are cheerleaders. Easy for her to wander off or be "lured" off.

So they find she's missing, call for her 3x over the PA, ultimately stop the game to look. Find her 25 minutes later, only a short distance away. Doesn't that sound like someone snatched her and panicked, maybe someone pretty young like a student.....If so, won't take long to crack....

+1

At a public event, almost a guarantee she was with someone she knew, cynic in me wants to immediate my point blame at a parent. Sad, sad story.

How could anybody be that evil? I have twin girls and I worry 24-7 about keeping them safe from crazy evil people. I hope they find this person and anal rape him over and over and over and over. Praying for their family.

I've read that they were walking through a crowd at the youth games, and she got separated then.

It was a short distance away where they found her, couple hundred yards. Behind the HS home-side football bleachers is the baseball field, and then the pond/woods area is past that. I played baseball on that field for 4 years, and didn't even know there was a pond there.

I had a weird feeling about this when I first heard as well. Something didn't add up. Then, I realized in cases like this nothing makes sense.

I feel it was either a drugged out psycho or a predator.

A crowd at a youth game in Allen county? That's not exactly Times Square we're talking about.

Edit: I did read an article that said there were a couple hundred people at this event. That seems much larger than I would have thought.

Very strange story, so far. She was found rather quickly, so whatever happened had to happen quickly. You just don't ever expect to hear something like this, in the southern part of KY.

Any updates this morning/afternoon? Police seem to be pretty tight lipped which I understand. I wonder if they have someone they are watching.

With today's technology there should be affordable small two way cameras with microphones that you could attach to kids clothing . That would atleast help you find them if you lose track of them before something bad happens or help solve what happened otherwise .

It is stuff like this that should bring back public executions instead of propping these psychopaths up forever and letting them get a lawyer to tell their sob story.

I can't imagine the hurt and pain from losing a kid and I never want to know the feeling. My kids are everything to me. May they find this mother effer and rip his guts out.

Agree w/ Heisman.

Regarding the "no news yet", I'm ok with that. I want the scumbag that did it to not get scared & run, so when they determine who it was they can easily find him.

Hate to post rumors, but that's about all we are getting right now..... So: I'm hearing they are pretty certain who did it, but are waiting for evidence before being able to act.

With so many people snapping pictures and videos, it would only seem reasonable that someone would have a picture/video that shows the victim with the murderer in the background. Or, it shouldn't be too difficult to take a compilation of all photos to see who is missing from previous photos and narrow it down to a handful of suspects.

A parent's worst nightmare.

That is along the lines of what I heard as well.

Scary Situation. Feel horrible for the parents and the community there.

Yeah you don't go until you make damn sure your got something that won't allow this ******* to get off

it's smart to not say anything especially the COD. That way when something finally leaks about hearing something, they will know the only ones who could have known that were the ones who killed her.

I also, am glad that they're making sure to get evidence that will stick on this evil sicko. The last thing you want is for this person to get off because of terrible evidence. I would put a ton of money on it that there was someone there that was suspicious and stood out or saw something to these folks. That's the thing about our state. Bad ones stand out a lot easier.

Seeing as how quickly this all happened, you'd think there would be a plethora of forensic evidence left behind. I doubt it was planned or he wouldn't have risked doing it with so many people around.

My guess is they are waiting for DNA to come back. I just hope they can nail the guy and do it quickly.

I'm only a death penalty proponent in extreme cases when there is NO doubt as to guilt, if that can be proven in this case they should sell chances on who gets to flip the switch on the scum bag, if the father doesn't get to him first.

We know nothing.

Everything I've heard is pure speculation/rumor (second hand info from an attorney).

A scary aspect is that, I live 550 miles away, and have not heard anything about this on the local/national news. Makes you wonder how common of an occurence is this?

Jonathon, it has been reported in the United Kingdom and through other media. No press conferences in Scottsville. The interesting thing to me, along the lines of what you are saying, is how surprised some people are that this could happen in this community. This happened probably a mile from where you lived, JW, as you know. It can happen anywhere. Most people acknowledge this can happen, then express shock when it does. And that is ok. Shock should be a reaction I suppose. Just know that this element IS in every community.

I didn't live near the HS. Grew up on south side of Allen county. But yes, scarily it can happen anywhere. I know I have looked in the past at the online map that shows where sex-offenders live near me & my kids school here in NC (which a town of 150K has a number of them). Does KY have a similar website?

I just hope they catch this lower than life scum.

Not going to post specifics, but they have a really good idea who did it. One rumor is was he covering up for his son? Also not going to get into specifics of how she was found, but it is really sick and depressing hearing what happened to her. Son of ***** deserves a death penalty, but from the parents not the court of law. The person suspected had his Facebook deleted after several thousand post on it.

You hearing anything worrisome about evidence? As in, lack of it.

Someone brought that up in a conversation I had a few days ago. I had a hard time believing it considering the recklessness (lack of better word) of the crime.

No not at all. They are just letting it stack up. I would guess before the weekend is over, early next week, there will be a arrest. Not going to get specific, there is plenty of physical evidence.

Good to hear. Something as impulsive as this had to leave behind all kinds of evidence.

Glad to hear they are making progress. Gives the family at least a grain of something positive.

Now I see what you meant, dude lives a mile or so from where I lived. No fair, you clearly know who I am, I have no clue who you are.
I don't recognize this guys name, glad about that, but looks like he was 8-9 years younger than me.
I just hope they have lots of evidence; want no doubts about anyone's guilt.
