Never approved for high school. The ACC requested it, and it was approved by the state health board, which sets those rules. I still hope the NCHSAA will request something along those lines, but just looked at the website and no change to the 100 limit. I did learn a couple things though. Cheerleaders and bands don’t count in the 100 limit. And no fans are to be allowed at scrimmages.
The 7% in the Governors orders only applied to stadiums with seating capacities over a certain limit....I think the number was 10,000 but I cant remember. However, I am sure there are some HS stadiums, especially in the mountains, Simeon Stadium, Grimsley stadium maybe, Richmond maybe etc...that seat in excess of 10,000. 7 percent of 10K is still just 700 LOL
If they are pushing for schools to open in person, all games should be open to attend.
Schools are already open. My kid goes 4 days.atleast around here.
Huge difference from Graham County and the more metropolitan areas. I would guess the number of cases in our far western counties are relatively low.
Graham County has had 538 cases and 12 deaths. Gaston County has had 22,074 cases and 340 deaths. Huge difference in urban and rural. But yea, if they push for kids/teachers to go back in person in urban areas might as well let people go to the games. Stuff makes no sense anymore. Open the damn bars too!
Well, opening bars doesn't have an affect on us in Graham being we are the last dry county in the state. Lol
And good thing is the meth problem hasn't seemed to make it there yet either. Got stuck in Marion!
There's not a town left around here that doesn't have some kind of meth problem, unfortunately. It's just easier to hide around here, I think. Also, while Graham County is still "dry", some of the best real shine you'll ever have, comes from there! Ironic, Lol.

The real shine I've had was from good ole Johnston County in the east.
Common knowledge that the best shine comes from the coldest and cleanest water. That rules out eastern NC as having the best Shine.

At first glance you will find a couple of dry counties but if you look into it and read you will see only one true dry county in nc.

In November, Governor Northam reduced outdoor sports fan capacity from 250 to 30% capacity, or two fans per player, whichever is less. Last week, the executive order was modified, but didn’t change the capacity limit originally shown in EO 72. So, it seems the two per player limit is still in effect. That’s what the Governor’s website indicates.
So, in a football game with two teams of fifty players each, there could be 200 fans. But baseball bleachers seating 100 and having two teams of fifteen players each, could only have thirty fans, not sixty (30%, not two per player).
