The Bull Gators(the $$$ folks) pretty much forced Meyer's hand.....they wanted a new OC and Meyer said no so they told him do it or be gone...so Meyer stepped down.....the pressure there right now is at a all time high....FSU is moving up in a big way....C Fla and S.Fla are starting to take recruits that have Fla offers and Miami is trying to bring their program back...so the pressure is at a all time high at Fla right now.

Sadly Mullen's name was brought up by the Bull Gators a few weeks ago as the guy who was behind Fla winning the NC....we can only hope Meyer being forced out by the $$$ will hurt them in Mullen's eyes...that's are only hope.

Stoops,Mullen,Auburn OC,Okl St OC seem to be names bouncing around but no clear #1 guy yet but most feel Mullen will be the #1 guy....also some $$$ folks don't have any intrest in Gruden.

Maybe Meyer will tell Mullen not to take the job and Florida is in more trouble then it appears on the outside.

When he speaks, everyone seems to take it as gospel. Why is that? Who are his sources? I'm not knocking his internet credibility because he seems to have a lot of it, just curious on how he established himself as 'the guy in the know' on BDJ.

If yesterday he was planning on coaching next year at UF, with Addazio as his OC, and today he's stepping down, then somebody with more pull than Urban didn't like Addazio as OC next year.

Florida has ridiculous expectations. Combine that with the coaching job Meyer did in his first year without both Mullen and Tebow and you can see that fanbase demanding something like that.

I think it holds water. They have been on this OC since last season and Meyer wouldn't let him go. Remember Croom and dubmass a few years ago? Cutcliffe explaioning to Boone and Khayat that he was in charge and promptly shown the door. Wealthy people don't do so well when the hired help tells them to 17 off......

Corch was making $4 million at Florida, and I can't see them paying Mullen more than $3 million. I've heard we're prepared to pay him more than $2 million. If Mullen keeps putting in years like this last year he can coach at MSU indefinitely. At Florida he'll get canned after 4. Is it worth going through that much pressure for just a million more (yeah, it's a million, but when you're already making 2 million, it's different). He's seen firsthand what Florida is like.

I'm pretty sure that Byrne told Croom to ditch woody and the WCO or he was gone, so this is not unrealistic.

apples to bags of s**t. no comparison. We may have used the excuse Croom wouldn't fire assistants, but he was gone no matter what.
