They did get the axe from the Big East a few years ago for lacking fan support.

That's sad, and Golden has worked a minor miracle up there. But, it is telling when you have to drop out of a conference in order to get more than 3 wins per year. Temple was 14-80 all time in the Big East.

And at 8-4, they still were only the 5th best team in the MAC.
