You see that in the illustration below, you have control of the "Top Seed 4, Lower Seed 2" square, while I have control of the "Top Seed 1, Lower Seed 6" square.

If the 1 seed is playing the 16 seed and wins 74-52, you would win $14 in the first round. Remember that theoretically you could win 32 times in the first round. If the 1 seed is playing the 8 seed in the second round, and wins 64-62, you would win $22. You could win 16 times in the second round. The pot escalates until a single winner takes $872 in the final. ($41 for Sweet 16, $60 for Elite 8, $130 for Final Four)

Last year I won four times in the first round, once in the Sweet 16 and once in the Elite 8. $141 for a $25 bet. Fun watching free throws at the end. MISS IT YOU DAMN MORGAN STATE PLAYER!

Do you guys rate the 1 seeds prior to the final 4?

And how do I get in? I'll gladly get in

I guess the next question is what if a 2 plays a 2. Do you base ties on the ranking of the 1-seeds in the region. For example, if West has the top 1-seed, and the West 2 vs. East 2 play in the final four, I would think the West 2 would be considered the higher seed.

you would let the highest one seed be in the same bracket as the worst 2 seed... so you basically have #1 in the nation vs. #8 in that nation (then #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, and #4 vs #5 for the other brackets.

But who knows... seems like a fun concept though.</p>

at least from how The Dude explained it to me several times. it has nothing to do with the seeds at all. it soley has to do with the top and bottom team(playing each other in the bracket). you have a master bracket, since occasionally different publications will release flipped brackets.

for the final game, the home team is the bottom team.
