And they probably won't be. I think they were around 10 but moved up when they recently beat Tennessee.
They have 4 other losses. I think every other team they have lost to is ranked - South Carolina, Louisville, Oregon and Georgia Tech. In addition to Tennessee, they have decent wins over Notre Dame, UCLA, South Florida and DePaul. Another set of teams that have either been ranked or are ranked. All are "decent".
UConn remains top 25, especially because injuries have had a huge effect.

Also they are back in a semi decent conference-Big East. Their days in the putrid AAC are no more.

Not the best look for Geno. The team is definitely a top 10 team though, IMO. With the talent they have, no way they should have lost to Villanova( though Nova is decent this year). When you have Dorka Juhasz, Aaliyah Edwards , and Evina Westbrook(all elite talents) combine for only ten points and seven boards, with Westbrook, the guard having 5 of those rebs., says Geno is not pushing the right buttons.
Granted they didn't have three of their best players......but they have an All-American roster from top to bottom. They should be final four bound even without Paige. Nelson-Ododa, and Ducharme would have put them over the top on Nova most likely had they played tonight. So I still think they will be around at the end come March if those players, at least, are healthy.

Its better than the AAC, which appears to be a 2 team league now - UCF and USF.
In the BE, excluding UConn, DePaul and Marquette are the cream. Creighton isn't bad and Villanova has been on a roll, although I doubt - pending further upsets - that they will be NCAA bound. It is sad to see that Georgetown, Seton Hall, St. John's have not been more consistently successful since the oBE broke up. Providence never was in recent history, of course.
Butler is in the cellar - 1 win this season, in non-conference, over SIUE.
What happens to that program when he retires ? Compare it to two football programs when highly successful coaches leave—do they almost fall off the face of the Earth like Nebraska or do they just continue on without skipping a beat like Ohio State?
