It’s very criminal, Pope stated ok but has imploded and Calipari sucked his last 5 years badly.A 5th year Senior at UK has gotten to see:

Crazy to see all the "wish we had Cal back" posts. I mean it was BAD the last 5 years. It’s very criminal, Pope stated ok but has imploded and Calipari sucked his last 5 years badly.
It was still better than this. I would have kept Cal had I known Mitch would have hired Pope. Should have known. I still think Calipari with his ability to retain some guys now would have lucked into a run before Pope can now. It was past time that he left for sure, but this staff looks like they aren’t capable of coaching Montana Southwest technical school.Crazy to see all the "wish we had Cal back" posts. LoL, I wasnt there the last 5 years. I was at UK to see three staight championship games.Man that is brutal. I feel for you. I was lucky enough to have the greatest timing ever. Transfered to Uk in 96. Saw three years in a row of craziness.
Given the injures (Butler, Kerr, Carr, & mainly Robinson) that Sweet 16 was pretty solid.A 5th year Senior at UK has gotten to see:

I'm pro-Pope. It was the best year of the last several. The lunatic, Sosa, that now creates and alias per hour is bumping my old posts as he's 14 years old , mentally insane and his wittle feewings are softer that charmin.Given the injures (Butler, Kerr, Carr, & mainly Robinson) that Sweet 16 was pretty solid.
And the guy with the Sweet 16 (starting from scratch) and is in 2nd place in the SEC this season despite missing 3 starters, is being ran out of town on a railA 5th year Senior at UK has gotten to see:

Not by me. I've been and continue to be a staunch Pope-supporter.And the guy with the Sweet 16 (starting from scratch) and is in 2nd place in the SEC this season despite missing 3 starters, is being ran out of town on a rail
Cal’s winning pct last 5 years .669 Pope at UK last year .667Crazy to see all the "wish we had Cal back" posts. I mean it was BAD the last 5 years.
Now do Hurley's recrord his first year and a half at you Con since that's how you assess things. Pope gets a minium of 3 years and you apparently cry about it for a minimum of three years.Cal’s winning pct last 5 years .669 Pope at UK last year .667
Add this year’s season Pope is at .679 which is his winning percentage at BYU after 5 years. Is that good enough to stay at UK?
I wasn't talking about you my man. I have seen you defend him and be fair. Not by me. I've been and continue to be a staunch Pope-supporter.
Pope is not close to Hurley as a coach. Now do Hurley's recrord his first year and a half at you Con since that's how you assess things. Pope gets a minium of 3 years and you apparently cry about it for a minimum of three years.
1 bad season does not equal 5.Crazy to see all the "wish we had Cal back" posts. I mean it was BAD the last 5 years.
But that's not what you said. You said less than 2 years was enough to make a decison. So you would have fired Hurley.Pope is not close to Hurley as a coach.
If it’s more of the same next year are you gonna be saying give him another year?I wasn't talking about you my man. I have seen you defend him and be fair.
I think the thing most people miss is that even the "pumpers" aren't saying he has a free ride forever. But tye man hasn't done anything to deserve losing his job and surely hasn't done anything to warrant the abuse he has taken
If he is missing 3 starters next year and still in 2nd place in the SEC 7 games in, yep, sure enoughIf it’s more of the same next year are you gonna be saying give him another year?
Regardless if Popes time has been better than Cal’s last 5 years, it still isn’t UK standard. The goal isn’t sweet 16’s and 2nd place in the league (we won’t finish remotely close to 2nd). If Pope had done literally anything worth a damn in recruiting for next year then this season would be much easier to forgive. As it stands, next year looks even worse than his first two years. And the guy with the Sweet 16 (starting from scratch) and is in 2nd place in the SEC this season despite missing 3 starters, is being ran out of town on a rail.
What exactly do you think is going to happen next year that makes Pope look any better than in his first two years here? It’s going to take a decent sized miracle in the portal for him to field a team even close to his first two. His recruiting failures will ultimately be what gets him fired here. That’s not all his fault, JMI has screwed him, but he’s also had more than his fair share of bad decisions and mistakes regarding recruiting. Now do Hurley's recrord his first year and a half at you Con since that's how you assess things. I didn’t say only give him 2 years. His winning percentage over the past 6.5 years is .679 His winning percentage at BYU and UK are identical. That is my point and is that good enough to stay at UKBut that's not what you said. You said less than 2 years was enough to make a decison. So you would have fired Hurley.
We lose Oweh and Aberdeen our top 2 scorers. Pope will need to recruit 2 stud scorers and 1 or 2 PG’s. Does he learn from his mistakes this year and sign a class to be able to make it to the final four? What exactly do you think is going to happen next year that makes Pope look any better than in his first two years here? finally someone with senseWhat exactly do you think is going to happen next year that makes Pope look any better than in his first two years here? Luckily nobody on the internet is going to run him off and he'll be here a minimum of three years. People can support him or whine about it. Their choice. All the best to you and yours.I didn’t say only give him 2 years. His winning percentage over the past 6.5 years is .679 His winning percentage at BYU and UK are identical. What happened to the players were terrible?!Crazy to see all the "wish we had Cal back" posts. I mean it was BAD the last 5 years.
So how did he do so pathetically the last several years? He was here way past the expired date. So glad he's stuck in Fayetteville, lmao. What happened to the players were terrible?!
Coach Cal had won a national championship, took multiple teams to the finals and final four, so clearly he did not just forget how to coach?!![]()
Joe B Hall stated it best. All coaches at UK expire after 10 years. It does not matter what their record is. Some do not make it 10.So how did he do so pathetically the last several years? He was here way past the expired date. So glad he's stuck in Fayetteville, lmao.
That or batterred syndrome, lmao. There's people on here remind me of a guy that catches his wife cheating on him, divorces her.
Gets to missing her, kinda forgets she got slack on cleaning, cooking besides being unfaithful. All he can think of is how great things used to be.
Well, it was good while it lasted but it's gone.
So it’s okay if he gets dog walked in non conference play, and loses to inferior teams at homeIf he is missing 3 starters next year and still in 2nd place in the SEC 7 games in, yep, sure enough
Rupp, Pitino and Cal have all been dog walked in conference play before. They have all lost to inferior teams at home. So have Coach K, Bobby Knight, Dean Smith, Dan Hurley, Nate Oats, Bruce Pearl, Billy Donovan....what the Hell is your point? So it’s okay if he gets dog walked in non conference play, and loses to inferior teams at home
So you think he should have done better than S16 starting from scratch? And name any team in America right now, UConn, Duke, Zona, and let me pick 3 players and subtract them and see how they do. Where is your BB IQ?Regardless if Popes time has been better than Cal’s last 5 years, it still isn’t UK standard. It’s beyond clear that many here have lowered their standards for what UK basketball should be. Defending ANYTHING that’s happened here the last 6-7 years is pathetic.
