Loyola @ Glenbard West

Palatine @ Maine South

If you'd asked people at the start of the season who'd be the final four, I think most people could have called the first three, with the exception being Maine South.

I think most people thought Glenbard West would probably be 7A.

Interesting that the 2 smallest 8A schools are still alive!

Huge congrats to @kpjasion and Palatine for overcoming the big injury to your heart and soul leader. Looks like your boys has his back.

And congrats to you to @MS4EVER for earning it the hard way. Just reading this now and really excited that you guys turned around your year and went down there and took care of business.

Congrats to ll you LA fans, but I guess this was inevitable for you guys.

I sure know that if you asked me in Week 6 if I though our boys would be playing LA in the semis at Duchon, I would have chucked and accused you of smoking something. I finally get why teams like MC don't mind losing a game or two in the regular season. Gives you a spine and lets you discover who your leaders are and your boys don't play out of fear of losing but rather the joy of laying it all out there and enjoying the ride.

GW is playing with house money at this point so looking forward to watching the film on our opponent, the #6 ranked team in the nation according to Massey.

Cheers!

With the multiplier, you get Glenbard instead of ESL. Gotta think that is a better matchup. Especially if it was a road game. Wilmette to Glen Ellyn is a breeze on a Saturday compared to ESL

Please excuse me if I'm not jumping for joy over having to play away from home for two consecutive weeks that happen to coincide with the quarters and the semis. What the hell good is it to be the #1 seed? I dare someone to try to convince me that this fair and reasonable.

Completely agree but only the IHSA to blame.

I'll call it now. Are these considered upsets?

GBW over LA
MS over Palatine

Thanks and good luck to you guys.

Because of playing at home on grass, are you guys the favorite?

give higher seeds an option to defer an early round?

give higher seeds home field for semis regardless of prior hosting?

seeding is so inaccurate (a 50 pt LWE win over higher seed Taft comes to mind) that brackets become more random (as non-upset upsets factor in) so a 7-2 or 8-1 team's path's may be easier than a 9-0 team -- playing back to back away games in the critical last few games - CRAZY
