I'll be pissed with the rest of the maroon nation if we go to Nashville but in the last decade we would have ******* abar ofgoldif we had made it to the MCB. Hell we were pumped about playing a freakin CUSA team in Memphis.

"To some extent"? Getting **** on by the bowls at 8-4 and ranked in the top 25 in favor of a 6-6 team is a pretty big freaking deal. It would be sending a clear message that unless we make a BCS bowl then the best we can hope for is maybe a Peach Bowl if we could somehow manage a 10-2 record.........wait a minute......that really happened.
Screw it all. Bring on the Birmingham Bowl and never mind the fact that our coaches, fans,and players will be getting screwed out of what they deserve.saltslugs said:
How many times do you think Houston Nutt mentioned the Cotton Bowl on the recruiting trail? Doesn't quite have the same impact when you tell recruits you went toone of the lowest bowls in the SEC. Meanwhile, a ****** UT team can say they went to the Gator and an equally ****** Florida team can say they went to the Outback Bowl. It matters.
If I go to Mississippi State, we go 8-4, lose to 4 top 20 nationally ranked teams, end regular season ranked in top 25, but the best bowl game I can hope for is the 17ing Music City bowl.. Or I can go to Tennessee or another big name school, barely become bowl eligible and go to a New Year's Day bowl. I will go to the game regardless of where, but this has further ramafications than just pissed off fans, players, and coaches. It sends a message to every recruit for this year and future recruiting classes and Mike is more than likely behind it, MSU gets 17ed almost every time they are successful and the only way I am going to play in a decent bowl game is to go 11-1 at MSU, or 6-6 at Tennessee and Georgia or 7-5 at Florida.
we ar taking a major 17ing. But you think we should just take with a grain of salt. 17 we have the stupidest 17iing fan base in the world. Hell I wouldnt blame a coach for leaving now he can go 8-4 in the ACC and got to the chick filet.
