9 wins is bad when it becomes a goal in and of itself.

It feels like our program is content to get its butt kicked against better competition as long as it gets to 9 wins and cleans up the weaker teams. It's an issue with our culture that goes beyond any one coach.

In many areas there was clear progress this year. I would feel optimistic at this point if not for the fact that our coach is 63. It's not like we have a hungry, young coach we have two decades to build around (Osborne was 35 when he took over.) Mike Riley is building towards retirement.

Bo Pelini failed to put the stars on recruits as promised and his ability to build depth and talent was akin to being on probation. However, Danny Langsdorf still has done nothing to instill any confidence in his coaching. I haven't followed our recruiting closely as of late, but I hope to god we have offensive linemen and quarterbacks on the way.

Going back to Colorado in 2001 wish this program could just lose a game without getting humiliated. At Ohio State and Iowa this year it was like we were just resigned to a loss, but hey, 9 wins.
