Both want to come to MSU.
But, they're both going to have to have big senior years to do it.
Gentry had a really good sophomore year and he started off his junior year really well- 4-1 at one point, but then he finished the year 5-5 with a 2.30 ERA (I like for prospects to have an ERA under 2.00 in high school).
Chase Domino looked like a guy that might be even better than Daryl Norris, hitting .435 with 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases as a sophomore, but then he had a disappointing junior year only hitting .342 with 9 home runs and 3 stolen bases, but what was most alarming was his strikeout to walk ratio of 38 K's to 16 BB's which really didn't improve from his sophomore year where he had 34 K's and 19 BB's.
At one point in time, Domino was going to walk-on in football as a QB and also walk-on in baseball. I don't believe that's the case any more.
With our limited scholarships, both are probably going to have to walk-on if they want to play at MSU. As you know, Gentry committed to Jones, and we'll see what happens with Domino, although I suspect he will end up in JUCO.
