A Basketball Championship Does NOT Make Up For This

No reason you can't be good at both. You just have to be equally committed to both as an administration.

Other schools have proven it can be done, which is why I don't understand people willing to trade basketball for football.

What I don't understand is why when people say they'd trade football for basketball why everyone fails to understand they are saying they'd trade our past success in basketball for an equivalent history in football instead.

I also don't understand why people would prefer to be the best at a secondary sport instead of the best at THE sport. Football still pays the bills even here folks. Basketball is great and I love watching them but it doesn't hold a candle to SEC football and fall Saturdays in the South.

nope, pitino has just as many championsips at UL as Cal at UK.[/QUOTE
How long has Pitino been there VS Calipari? How many Final Fours, Elite Eights? Who else has great basketball and football? Michigan State? Ohio State is pretty presentable in BB, excellent football. UNC has pretty good football right now. Notre Dame? Oregon has gotten good in bb. Who else?

Agree. We console ourselves with bball but nobody besides kansas or duke/unc fans give a **** about bball. Meanwhile we a laughing stock in the americas favorite sport

"America's" favorite sport is soccer (football). The U.S. of A. favorite sport takes place after the game.

Since the two sports are not the same thing a championship in one sport does not to make up for how bad football is. However I would rather be good in one rather then bad in both.

Totally agree. In fact we should have less excuses than most because basketball foots its own bill here. Most schools have to pay for it with football money.

What I (someone who is a die-hard fan of both sports) don't understand is why football-only/first fans have to ***** about basketball every time they are mad about football.
