Born and raised in Kentucky. Grew up listen to Cawood gathered around a radio. I've lived in Alabama for over 50 years. The Alabama football team was coached by legendary Coach Bear Bryant. In the late sixties and 1970 Alabama had a few mediocre seasons in football by Alabama standards. A lot of diehard Alabama fans were calling for Bryant to retire saying he no longer had what it took to win National Cahmpionships. Coach Bryant would not/did not accept mediocrity. He knew something had to change. So, before the 1971 season he and his offensive coordinator went to Texas and learned the wishbone offence form another legendary coach, Daryll Royal. In the next twelve years Alabama, under Coach Bear Bryant won 123 games, nine SEC Championships, and three National Championships (that's a National Championship ever four years).
