Does anyone have a link to the Wildcat nation site that some are moving to?
Which one are tariffs?capitalism (freedom of free-enterprise_).
Then why do you keep on crying over other opinions? lolPeople should understand that opinions and facts are two different things, obviously.
If someone ever tells you that something is likely to happen in the future, something for which they have absolutely no control over, then that is an opinion, not a fact.

Just so folks know, the decision to get rid of the other free boards was not mine or Justin’s. On3 is getting rid of all free boards on its site for moderation issues and I think virtually all of their new sites have none. They also have a strict policy of no “general discussion” boards bc they devolve into politics and on3 has a “100% no politics” policy. Justin and I both convinced the powers that be to keep one due to historical purposes and they agreed. My guess is that within the year, it will be the one of the last ones left in the entire on3 network
I know it’s not ideal for some people and it is a change. But Justin has agreed to keep moderation of this board under his editing and it will continue. It’s not a “KSR” decision and it certainly isn’t my decision. It’s just the way they do message boards and it’s why when KSR+ started theirs, no free discussion board was part of it.
I hate to be a negative Nellie, but this move was done intentionally in an attempt to force my hand into paying On3 money for the privilege of posting on a message board.
As a first generation internet user from the late 20th Century, I flat out refuse.
It’s a shame. It’s like losing a community I have been a part of for nearly 25 years under a couple different names.
Gotta love capitalism.

It's a tale as old as man. We’ve been here a long time and I’m sure Matt loves being one of the guys to tear it down. I believe that.
Capatalism isn’t the issue and it’s not the cause of this. We get this so backwards sometimes. It’s not capitalism or the pursuit of money that is the issue. The problem is the idea that you must maximize. It’s been taught for 50 years in every economics institution and since the lawyers have became the driving force in America this is where we are. Greed is the problem, and in our system we don’t actually have to do that. But one does it, the next think they have to do it. But they don’t.
I refuse to try and maximize in my life. When it’s enough, it’s enough, and I then help around me. If this country would begin to realize the maximization of profit is demonic and shows just how truly evil people can be, we’d be better off.
This became widespread when the boomers inherited the efforts of the generation before them and it hasn’t slowed since.
Look at it this way. Your $130 a year that you pay to post here will contribute to 1/4th of the champagne bottle that 0n3's CEO gulps from next year in his luxury box seat when we win a big football game.there is alot of headwinds against Kentucky fans in regards to basketball lately.
anything that takes fans away from focusing on Kentucky basketball is not good, especially with the apathy of NIL.
I doubt On3 cares, but this hurts UK.
Rename this board Wildcat Lair and Rupp Rafters - Free BoardJust so folks know, the decision to get rid of the other free boards was not mine or Justin’s. This is contradictory. Once one does it, the rest will fall behind if they don't. The system itself incentives that "greed" and punishes you if you don't engage in it.Greed is the problem, and in our system we don’t actually have to do that. But one does it, the next think they have to do it. But they don’t.
I was about to hang the whole message board AND UK thing up anyway. NIL, portal, JMI, Mitch, Pope, the players are half what they were 20 years ago. They're entitled brats that won't listen and have attitude. They are selling the schools out for more cash every year. We don't know who the hell is on the team from year to year, and it takes 10 games to learn who's who at the beginning of every season. I think Oweh's problem was that the NBA didn't want him, and he resents having to come back to college; he's mad and pouting. The days of the bluebloods are gone, and for the UK for sure. No more FF's, no more Natties. We are a middle-of-the-pack team now. The SEC has caught up to UK and passed us by. The history and tradition aren't even known or understood by the kids looking for a NIL paycheck these days. There are no players that are playing for KENTUCKY, the SCHOOL, anymore. UK's gone the way of the 8-track or cassette tape. We're losing more and more freedoms every day. It's subtle, but what's happening to this board is a slow-motion taking away of freedom of speech, and we all know who's doing it.
Literally has nothing to do with capitalism lmao You're lucky to be allowed to post here for free still. To even be on the internet at all. Be grateful for that.
He’s a really good dude. Talks on end about the topic that shall not be named, adds his personal slant on the matter. Then when his supporters who keep his show on the air call in to talk about the topic that shall not be named, they get rudely rebuked and hung up on. Then, the same host complains in the next segment about the fans who tell him he should “stick to sports.”Just got done reading "Mitch Please!" By noted Rupp Rafters mod Matt Jones.
Im so glad were under the moderation of someone who is absolutely going to be super fair.
No they won’t. No.This is contradictory. Once one does it, the rest will fall behind if they don't. The system itself incentives that "greed" and punishes you if you don't engage in it.
Really didn’t understand it anyway. Nobody cares. It’s catsillustrated. It’s a sports network. Nobody cares that you changed your kids diaper or what you did at work. Most of that bs was a bunch of guys who clicked up in high school so they did their clicky sht here. All of that should have been taken out a long time ago. Take that crap to Facebook with the grandmothers.Personally, I would've kept the football board but it's not difficult to have one megathread for portal news and another for offseason news. Those two threads would cover most of the important topics during the offseason. Then reverse it once Madness is over and have the same threads for basketball. Problem is active posters have a habit of creating threads just because. That's why Rafters is always a crapshow after a loss. Folks think we need an entire thread dedicated to "OMG I'm mad!"
As far as GYERO goes, I've read the thread off and on for over 15 years but it's really slowed down the last year or so and it's been at a crawl the last several months. This move didn't kill it, those posters seemingly have grown out of logging in daily and posting updates on their lives. That's what happens as you get older. The thread was most active when those dudes were in their 20s and 30s. Now, not so much.
Even granting that just for the sake of argument (it isn’t true), so? That’s staking all of society and its functioning on a gentlemen’s agreement. The altruism of strangers. Never going to work. Plenty of people may opt to follow it, as you say. But the Elon’s of the world never will. There must be regulation. No they won’t. No.
you can make enough and have enough. You won’t fall behind because the guy in front of you maximized to the greediest point. The system itself doesn’t incentivize greed. It allows it, but you don’t have to do it.
What will happen now is younger generations are going to buy into caps into the system. it’ll be fought off for a while but eventually it’ll come. From there it will all erode, even at the top. The republic itself will fall, it’s already begun. And it’s happening due to selfish greed and the idea that you must do it. You absolutely do not have to do it. I personally know wealthy people who will tell you they said enough and went home to their family. Why don’t they have to do it? Because it’s the lie that’s been told at every university for 50 years. You just maximize. It’s pure nonsense.
For one month?Unknown, but my CC billed $129 by On3 this month.
That is true, the boomers have held onto every penny they have made and most do not want to help the generation they made. I’ve seen a lot of information about this and my wife’s mother is a perfect example. Her husband made great financial decisions. Neither my wife, nor I care about their money, but since she doesn’t like me she won’t help her own daughter or grandkids one bit. She would rather die alone rather than give anything away even in death. We’ve been here a long time and I’m sure Matt loves being one of the guys to tear it down. I believe that.

I will admit I have no idea the financials of KSR but they just have a ton of average fans who throw money away. I completely agree with this, but if they didn’t think it would add to their pocket books it wouldn’t have been done."I know it's not ideal for some people..."
I already pay you guys $130 a year to post here. I can tell you that it's not ideal for anyone. We have over 25 years of history with this message board community. You guys come across as massively iconoclastic with this move. Maybe even a little condescending as well.
Not really a way to win over the people whose money you want to eventually extract.
No it doesn’t, it’s like large companies. Amazon has all the money in the world. They are set for life basically and have destroyed brick and mortar stores for good almost outside your Wal-Marts. The Waltons are richer than they could ever imagine but in the futile pursuit of more profits that are impossible to get at this stage they will constantly raise prices, fire employees, engage in scummy practices all for 2 cents more in profit. At some points businesses can no longer grow, but they keep acting like they can. I love capitalism but it’s gotten to the point where corruption has caused the 1% to own everything. It shouldn’t be that way but the safeguards that are supposed to prevent it have been eroded over the decades by the people making the money. This is contradictory. Once one does it, the rest will fall behind if they don't. The system itself incentives that "greed" and punishes you if you don't engage in it.
I believe you are correct, it’s why so many are buying into the socialism is great narrative no matter how much evidence exists to the contrary because those ideals are also being taught to every generation in the same institutions. But we can all go round in circles on this, let’s get back to the core issues here. The merger sucks to the OG posters here.No they won’t. No.

Everything you said is true. Except the initial "No". It isn't corruption, it's just the natural progression of capitalism. The wealth concentrates and those in whose hands it concentrates use that power to continue to accrue more.No it doesn’t, it’s like large companies. Amazon has all the money in the world. I have a strict policy as well. Show no loyalty and you will be shown none. In other words, ON3 can ESAD. Kentucky folks are the most loyal in the world but do them wrong and they'll never forget it.Just so folks know, the decision to get rid of the other free boards was not mine or Justin’s. Yeah, I hope no one is buying that BS. College sports is losing its identity anyway so finding diehards willing to pay to talk about a sport with waning interest is a losing proposition. Why the heck isn't it possible to continue moderating like when it was CatsIllustrated? Trained volunteers would gladly patrol the board.
I understand nuking the Paddock – that place sucked. But the basketball board? The Lair?
Just seems like an excuse from folks higher up to send us to paid boards, despite that not necessarily being the case. I feel like everyone is understandably pissed, and that we would've loved some warning.
The communication issue has been a huge concern and is about as reliable as reporting on UK pursuing an NBA player.
I just don't understand how anyone can think that this is an okay way to run anything.
Corruption in the sense they get politicians in to erode safeguards like not enforcing laws such as the Sherman Antitrust act.Everything you said is true. Except the initial "No". It isn't corruption, it's just the natural progression of capitalism. The wealth concentrates and those in whose hands it concentrates use that power to continue to accrue more.
No, for entire year, I assume. If more, then I'm out.For one month?
That is still more than advertised right or maybe with tax?No, for entire year, I assume. If more, then I'm out.
Yeah true but RR was already free. Now with the KSR merge, instead of one heroeshero, we have 40 of themNot sure how lucky that is, free does bring the damn trolls out, and maybe they love trolling enough to pay also
And I will be honest, I thought I was a pretty nutty fan, until I started reading RR. But I wasn't even close to some. But it's been fun, for the most part. But there are some, that can go fk themselves, and I won't be paying to listen to there bulls.hit.

Caller: Hey, uh Matt..can I talk about that topic that shall not be named? You know the one you were just saying…..

Matt: Stick to sports!
