A Distraction Topic

Since we may not have football, I had a thought about something that’s interesting to me, that might serve as a small distraction.

If you could choose 5 players from Ole Miss’s roster that could be immediately eligible at State, who would they be? (You don’t get any cool points for saying “I wouldn’t take no one from TSUN!!!)

I’ll start by picking my 5 from MSU:
1. Nathan Pickering - I think he’s a stud, and plays a position of dire need
2. Charles Cross - I think he’s the best player on your roster and will be a Day 1 pick in two years. The fit in Leach’s offense is a match made in heaven, as well.
3. KJ Costello - I’m high on Plumlee in Kiffin’s offense, but Costello could come in and light it up, much like he will at MSU. This one was tough for me, because I’d hate to stunt Plumlee’s growth, because he’s generationally talented from an athletic standpoint. But, we’d win more games this year with KJ.
4. Whoever your 2nd best DL is. I’m not really sure who that is, but whoever it is, he’d start for us.
5. Kylin Hill - it seems silly to have him this low, but that’s the one position where I feel really good about them with Ealy, Connor, Parrish and Bullock. But, Kylin is an All-American caliber athlete. Him and Ealy would be sick.

Honorable mention - literally any warm body on the DL

From Ole Miss:

1. Ealy (I think Kylin is better but Ealy is younger and very good)
2. Sanogo (Good player when healthy, would take him in a heartbeat)
3. Jaylon Jones (we have zero CB depth)
4. Moore (fake pee aside, good player that would probably do very well in the air raid)
5. Mingo (thought he was someone we should’ve signed and you can always use WR depth. Think he will have a good career)

Plumlee, Jackson and Mingo at WR. Ealy at tailback. Those are obvious. Need that talent for the future.

Jacivan Brown at LB, we need young linebackers. Maybe go Ben Brown on the OL, because we will need experienced OL next year. Or Eli Acker maybe?

I'm not coming up with many, bro. Ya'll have been hit hard by the probation in the upperclass.

You ain’t kidding. I really think Luke’s 2019 class may be what somewhat helps “save” or allow Ole Miss to tread water. He had some hits in that class. Especially on offensive side of ball. But, there’s not a ton there in upper class. I agree that Ben Brown would definitely be a major contributor for State. Elijah Moore would probably be your best WR. He’s damn good.

Ealy, much like K Hill, is a take for any team. Someone else mentioned Jaylon Jones, because of need at CB. I’d say Keidron Smith would be a better take. He really showed signs of being a great corner, last year. Very physical. Has length. J Jones hasn’t been himself since his injury.

The TE transfer is interesting to me. I think he could be really good in the right offense. He sure looks the part.
