1. We won. Plain and simple. After sitting in another high school stadium at La Tech last year and leaving with that feeling of disgust and disbelieve, we won a road game we obviously should have easily won.
2. Their whole team was keying on Dixon and he still got yards. We will miss him next year. Seems like many times we would hand it to him when 8 or 9 defenders were waiting-maybe Tyson needs to keep it some more or pitch it outside. Also, the secondary was better, but they were throwing into a very stiff 15 MPH breeze when we got our picks. Mitchell was also 15 yards off their guy on the flanker pass, but the wind held in up and he recovered. He seems to be a sucker to commit to the run/play action and then he is out of position and gets burned often.
3. The MTSU fans said Mullen outcoached their coaches on play calls and various adjustments. I know, I know, we are SEC and they are whatever they are and we should out coach them, but after hearing what a 'great guy' our previous coach was, it was still refreshing to hear.
4. Real Refs! They actually called holding penalties when someone grabbed a jersey.
5. They had flaggots in their band!@#!@ 2 guys in their band made Ponidextor look like a straight nurd.
6. As someone else said, it was very cold for a game to be 43 degrees.
7. MTSU is a nice campus that no one has probably ever been on. Their enrollment is larger than any Mississippi school, but it is a suitcase school with little alumni base, like Southern Miss. Also, Murfreesboro is a nice area, similar to a Madison or Germantown, but twice as large.
8. Finally, if you are checking in your hotel and they put you in a room between 2 rooms filled with toddlers, get another room, as you will get many chances to roll over and see that it is 3 AM and someone is crying!@#
