Two-thirds of the way through the first quarter and it looked like we were gonna coast through another Troy-like blowout. Not sure what the **** happened, but we're lucky to come away with the W tonight. Here are a few things I noticed throughout the night:

  • I really really dislike our jet sweeps, reverses, and other extremely slow developing plays. Jameon ran one sweep for 16 yards. The next 4 combined for -1.
  • The fake qb dive play action pass has been missing. I feel like we could have really gotten something big off that play considering the way Dak was running.
  • Our defense played like **** for the better part of 3 1/2 quarters. We rarely got pressure, they were picking apart our zone coverage and for **** sake how many times were they gonna run the counter on us?
  • Morrow made a few nice plays tonight. There may be hope for him yet.
  • Seems like Jameon practically disappeared in the second half. We gotta find a way to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers. De'runnya Wilson, Robert Johnson, and Brandon Holloway are all electric with the ball in their hands and we should be exploiting this.
  • That pass interference call on the Coman interception was pretty weak. I understand it, but I've seen worse contact get ignored many times before.
  • We are very fortunate that the Bowling Green receiver let that ball bounce off his shoulder pad.
  • Justin Cox looks lost out there in the secondary. He is obviously talented but he needs work. It was nice to see Redmond out there make a big play.
  • Dak could've run for 200+ tonight if we'd executed a little better.
