A few weather thoughts...

...first of all, I'd like to thank the board for reading my post. Although it's tongue in cheek when I say it, I need to point out in all seriousness that I am the board's foremost weather expert. My uncle was a meteorologist in Kansas back during the tornado alley days of the 70's. My dad majored in meteorology at State before switching to something else. I have watched the weather all my life. Because of my pedigree, I've been approached by several news stations to do some weather for them, but my current job pays too well, and I like money :).

First of all, I hope everyone is ok. Let me just say that weather can be scary, and it has been scary around here the last couple of days. Another important point that needs to be made is that rain is wet, and there has been a lot of water. Sometimes that gets overlooked by people. Also, it is a little scarier at night because you can't see what's coming at you and people are asleep. A lot of people were wondering if our weather this year would be as bad as last year. After the Yazoo tornado went through, we lost a lot of firepower. But one thing that I will say about this year's weather is that is more consistent. We have had a lot of it and it seems to be more intent on destruction. As far as last year's weather goes, only 20% of the destruction associated with the Yazoo tornado was with the tornado. There were other problems like rain and the road conditions that contributed to that weather system. Anybody who disagrees just doesn't know weather. I think our weather this year has a chance to be even worse because of the consistency that I have already mentioned. Plus, we have some big time cells developing across the river that are going to come into our state and contribute.

If anybody has any comments, I'd love to argue with you. And I'll be making the last post in all weather related threads.

I think 90% of this board knows nothing about the weather. Get the $#%* out of here with that stuff about water being wet.

It must really suck for you when I am right about baseball- which is about 90% of the time- no pun intended.
