Summed up our team rather well. He said, " we are not talented enough to play conservatively ".

Yep, that's the most concise and accurate statement I've heard/read about our team. The sad part is that our HC does not understand this. I bought in. I thought changes were going to be made. Based on yesterday, very little, if anything, has changed with the offense. People can speculate all they want to about how good OSU's defense is, but the fact of the matter remains, they were horrendous last year. And we scored 3 17ing points against them, 3. 3 17ing points.

The first series was a thing of beauty. And then, we revert back to predictable runs into defensive clusters, passing plays that take 10 17ing minutes to play out, and questionable calls by the coaching staff. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I like Dan and appreciate where things are now, but I am almost finished making excuses for him. He needs to get this **** fixed now.

At first glance I agree. But I think that we are talented enough on defense to hold our own. Competent - well that's another question.

If we hammer containment in autry's head and get our corners back, this defense could be very good.

My wife even said that we looked like a high school team. Football is just a social event to her but she's not blind.

More like a single A academy football team. ........................................................................................

We run about 6 plays with very little variation among those 6. Essentially identical reads every time. Makes it extremely easy for the opposing defense to key. I actually felt sorry for Perkins after it became apparent the two headed beast of Mulloenning was determined to keep running him into the teeth of the OSU DL.

what hurts the most is seeing the writing on the wall with mullen. he doesnt have it anymore. he is a one trick pony that forgot how to do his trick. and here we are staring down the barrel of the other sec coaches where everyone across the board has upgraded.

saban, richt, muschamp, spurrier, jones, franklin, freeze, pinkel, miles, stoops, sumlin, malzahn, bielema ....there simply arent many names i would put mullen in front of. stoops, pinkel maybe, jones maybe.....from then, i cant justify him being ahead of any other guys. its a sad realization that our coach that was once considered in the top half of the league has us in the bottom quarter of coaches all over again, and its looking like we are on the bad side of the coaching wall. more disparagingly, he is getting his *** handed to him on the recruiting trail by almost everybody on that list. the come-to-Jesus that we needed to take place this offseason never happened and we are stuck with no answers and facing probation. really poor preparation all the way around.

I said something along the same lines to friends. What is the point of NOT airing it out. Their defense was not that good, but it isn't hard when the playcalling is so painfully obvious. Dak came in twice on 3rd and short and did anyone in the building not see what was coming? Do we not have a straight QB keeper from under center?

Just a disgusting playcalling display.
