a very good friend of mine went into the hospital in January and spent two months in ICU and several other weeks in the hospital after leaving ICU. He literally fought for his life. After getting out of ICU he received a phone call from Dan Mullen. Too weak to even hold his phone (his wife held the phone to his ear) and barely able to speak, he listened for several minutes as Coach talked with him. Coach challenged my friend, telling him he expected to see him at Davis Wade for our home opener. He also told him thatseveral team members would be together later that day and the first thiing they were going to do was pray for him together. He also assured him that when the entire team got together they were going to pray for him as a team. His talk with my friend was a huge motivation to him and his wife (both as dedicated a Bulldog fans as exist). As his wife toldme about the call I could see the bright gleam in my friend's eyes. My friend had been challenged by Coach Mullen and his day had been brightened by someone he did not know personally. He had 6 months to get well enough to attend the first game of our season. He was put on notice by CM. Now he is out of the hospital and still in physical therapy, attempting to regain his ability to walk. He remains determined and tells me that if he can't walk into Davis Wade he will go in his wheelchair. I am confident he will walk again and believe at some time this season he will walk and take his regular seat in Davis Wade to watch the Bulldogs play. Thanks to Coach Mullen my friend gained the motivation he needed at that time. Coach Mullen did something he did not have to do. It may have seemed like a small act of kindness but to my friend it was inspirational. Kudos to Coach. May God Bless him and my friend!

A coach dressing up as a clown to entertain kids is kind of
cute.....once or twice. ANY grown man who owns his on clown costume
and who keeps clown kitsch in is office is just creepy
