I know your point is that a team's beat write shouldn't be writing crap like that but that aside, I had the same thoughts recently about State not being a "true" Top 25 team. If you're only paying attention MSU games and you see us lose to teams like OM and Ark, then it's hard to not think that. However, it only takes one solid day of Saturday basketball watching to see that there are plenty other teams doing the same thing(losing to teams they probably shouldn't). So I guess my stance is, we deserve the ranking until someone else takes it from us and obviously no one is doing a very good job of that.
I saw this asshat in Fla last year on Fri night in a bar. He had a 17'ing ole miss golf shirt on. He hates writing for us & I wished they'd get somebody who did more than troll the interwebs for stories! 17 that guy!
I mean if you look solely at our team in a bubble then you see a team that has only gone 4-3 over the last seven games. However, look at Michigan who has gone 2-3 over the last five and also lost at Arkansas. Indiana has gone 2-4 over the last six. It was aneedless comment by an amateurwriter.
pretty good. The main article was about why we are only playing seven guys. It was spot on. Just a reminder though and one that some here hate to see brought up: the Final Four team only went about seven-eight deep. Those guys usually saw a lot less minuted than Steele and Lewis do. Then again no starter that year saw as few as sid does.
...are in a no-win situation. If they sunshine pump, they are homers. If they criticize, they "hate" us. The truth is that Locke & Marcello (along with those that came before them) are just doing their job. I've had occasion to meet both of them and they seem like alright dudes. Neither of them has been as critical of State as I am when I'm watching a game...<div>

we aren't a top 25 team right now.I do think we are deserving of our ranking, though (if that makes sense).
I kind of get what you are saying but I still think we could beat just about any team ranked outside the top 15 on a neutral court. These next 3 games for sure will let us know where we stand. If don't win all 3 then we don'tbelong but win them all and we are sitting at20-5 which is pretty damn good.KurtRambis4 said:

I agree that we let too many bad teams hang around in games but we have also won them for the most part. Conversely, Florida has 2 bad losses to teams with RPI's in the 100's (Rutgers and Tennessee). Florida State who has beaten Duke and North Carolina has also lost to Princeton and Clemson with RPI's also in the 100's. So I don't think MSU is any different that any other team ranked in the 15-25 range other that we all have an emotional investment in them.</p>
He's got the biggest MSU slant of any beat writer we've had, and THIS is the complaint? Good grief. Locke is actually the one I read when I want a bit of sunshine pumped.
You have got to be joking. I don'tnecessarily think Locke is anti MSU but he is a smart *** that needlessly injects things like this into his articles.Overall his article today was pretty decent but he takes some digs at Sidney and has the comment about us not being a top 25 team. Plus, most comments about Sidney are warranted, and however much potential our team has, we're less than stellar on the road, and the 7 man rotation will give us huge problems, and not just against elite teams.
