So instead of bitching about the safety or the interceptions or the cluster of a first half, THIS is the play that keeps getting singled out? It was a sure TD. It was the right call. We let it come down to that... This game was on us and not the officials GETTING THE CALL RIGHT.
I'm sure he got the ball in but there was no angle that 100% confirmed that.
A beam that shoots across the field? ummm I think the 22 players on the field might cross it too. First downs too? I guess the sideline refs can position the beam for each play.I have said for years the technology is there to end all these judgement calls. Put a RFID chip in each end of football. Have a beam that shoots across field on yardage sticks and end zone markers. Beam is penetrated then it's a first down or touchdown. No arguing, no judgement.
What was that angle? 38 degrees? 42 degrees? Without knowing that angle, you have NO idea if he crossed. Apparently, some six pack posters need for Physics of Football to make a return.
My "thoughts" obviously count enough that what I thought would initially happen ended up happening... So what if CBS didn't have any replay that mattered (no way to know if the officials did... but the replay I saw was pretty conclusive... especially since everyone is saying "well, it was a touchdown BUT...)? THE. RIGHT. CALL. WAS. MADE. It was a TD by at least a foot. I saw it. The officials saw it. Everyone I was sitting with saw it and said the same 17ing thing I did... that "no way this isn't a TD." When henry fell to the ground (without the ball, but he made zero forward progress on his way to the ground and he was holding the ball at his chest, which was ripped from him on his way to the ground) THE GOAL LINE FELL UNDER HIS WAIST. Need I remind you that the ball only has to break the FRONT PLANE of the goal line in order to score. That is a 17ing touchdown all day every day. It's not what cost us the game, it's not anything other than the officials wanting to get the call right... and they did. I don't know why people are so adamant about bitching about the officials... Hell, Bama had nearly twice the penalties we did last night and we are screaming about a call they eventually looked at and got right. This is stupid...
I guess everyone has forgotten about making fun of all the Auburn fans bitching about the officials in our game that "lost them the game?" and posting a stupid *** video about it? This is the same kind of ****... a lot more cost us the game than the officials looking at a replay and doing their best to get it right.
Supposedly the replay booths have multiple screens synced up, so you don't just need one angle. In fact, I think one reason they do this is the screwing we took against Florida in Jonathan banks freshman year, where the replay official missed the uf fumble because he didn't look at both angles and the time on the clock.
