PN had the opportunity to be just like this kid. "Good call..."
I can't believe that anyone would take my posting of this video as anything but a joke. However, here we are!I can't believe that anyone would be this dumb.
1. It was not PN's fault that the refs botched the ruling.
2.It was not PN's fault that the refs made an incorrect call on an illegal touching penalty where a defender pushed a PN WR out of bounds, the WR reestablished himself, and caught the go ahead TD pass with less than 2 min to go.
3. It was not PN's fault that Fenwick could not stop them in overtime.
4. Even if PN were stupid enough to "step aside," the IHSA would just consider it a forfeit victory for ESL and not let Fenwick play in the championship.
The entitlement and audacity of some people on here to think otherwise blows my mind.

It wasnt PN fault it was the ref and the IHSA fault
No dog in this fight! I firmly believe that this is not a private vs public battle. I am torn by this situation. I feel the pain/animosity/hatred/bitterness for all involved. No argument here. And they have every right to be upset and protest. But from what I have seen, there has been WAY too much hatred and disrespect sent PN's way by a lot of the Fenwick faithful. Not right.
If I see another poster say it's Fenwick's fault for not stopping Plainfield North in overtime, my head is going to explode. Enough already.
I'm disappointed Fenwick didn't sue the IHSA.

I believe that if an opposite result had occurred, Fenwick would have forfeited the victory.
Hey......... fenwick should have stopped the easy off tackle run.... bartman lives, he is a fenwick grad!If I see another poster say it's Fenwick's fault for not stopping Plainfield North in overtime, my head is going to explode. Enough already.
In addition, the Fenwick coach should have known that throwing the ball down field to no one is a penalty, and since it is a known penalty, he should have known what the outcome of the penalty, at the end of a game, would or should be. So, in addition to the officials' mistake, the coach made a series of mistakes that hurt his team. If you're the Fenwick coach, you walk out to the middle of the field, call over the PN coach and the officials, and pull out your copy of the rule book. And from this time forward, every HS coach in Illinois should do exactly that. When the Fenwick coach did not pull his team off the field until the rule in question was clarified (yes, he should have known the rule. He is the one ultimately responsible for protecting his team's interests, not the officials), he agreed to continue playing the game. His team did not execute when needed. If your head does go ballistic, would you please clean up the mess.

I place blame squarely on Fenwich's coaches! It's their job to know the rules and play by them. I am certain they teach the rules to their coaches. I am pretty sure the head coach is required to go to a rules interpretation meeting before first game? Unless they did away with this, it's at this meeting with officials in attendance they review the rule book and ask questions.
No one on Fenwick's staff had a rule book? Not one of their coaches knew the rule??? Shame on the staff! They screwed up by putting their team back on the field....... doing so in my opinion they agreed to the call and thus got beat. Did the head coach tell the official on the record that he was protesting the call?
Afterwards is when Fenwick wants to call foul!
Fenwich's staff has all the reason to be mad as hell and upset but they need to take ownership and responsibility! I read that the head coach stated he didn't know the rule because he thought they change it. Serouisly the Head Coach didn't know the rule even after that same blunder happened in a college game(Oklahoma State) earlier this year and was shown repetively on sports channels!
This will have an ugly ending! There will be no winners in this.
Blame can be pointed in all directions.
Unfortunately there is no rules meetings to attend anymore. All meetings are done online. All officials are required to watch the rules meetings, but the schools are required to have at least one coach watch it. It can be a assistant freshmen coach, doesn't matter.
Thanks for correcting me ref 2--been some time since I attended a meeting. Make more sense to do it online! The point I am trying to make is that Fenwick coaches should know the rules!Unfortunately there is no rules meetings to attend anymore. All meetings are done online. I bet coaches start attending or getting in the webinars now

By the way, fenwick, how about getting a mascot that doesn't look like moe from the three stooges... kinda freaky.....
