Has allowed only 1 3rd down conversion in 23 attempts in the last 2 games with Auburn and MSU. MSU only had 1 drive that had at least 30 yards and that was the TD drive. A&M's offensive line was moving our d-line, while our O-line, suffering from injuries, was like a swinging door. A&M is much better than I thought and MSU's defense continues to show me they are at least well coached. Of course, their defense should have kicked our ***. They had a projected 2nd round pick going up against our RSoph back up LT from Appalachian State. I don't know what we can take from this game other than we probably just need to forget it and move on. The talent differential was vast. Let's hope we heal up during the bye week.

I think Elko is the best coach they’ve had since they’ve been in the SEC. Sumlin just rode the coattails of great QB’s and Jimbo was a relic of the 2000’s and early 2010’s. Elko knows what he’s doing, IMO.

If they can figure out a way to cut down on penalties and keep Reed from making mistakes, the rest of their roster is very good. Good in the trenches and loaded at the skill positions.

Looking at their schedule, they should be 7-0 before they play at LSU and at Mizzou back to back in a few weeks. If they win either of those games they are likely playoff bound.

One does not have to have mensa level intelligence to deduce that there is a significant disparity between the OL talent at MSU and the DL talent at A&M. And hang onto your @$$e$, MFers, because you will see that disparity yet again in every remaining game.

It’s a little surprising that the talent disparity between state’s defense and opponents’ OL and offensive skill players is not quite as obvious. Credit to the defensive coaches.

Trying to watch objectively, their D Line whipped our O line terribly bad.

(So ya'll just continue to blame our QB) Typical!
Here's the reality of our O line woes

2023 signees
Leon Bell - 88 rating - transferred to Cal
Zay Alexander - 88 rating - transferred to ULM
Amari Smith - 87 rating - left for JUCO
Jayden Hobson - 86 rating - transferred to Bama
Malik Ellis - 86 rating - transferred to Troy
Portal transfers in - Zero

2024 signees
Jimothy Lewis
- 90 rating - still here, 2nd team
TJ Lockhart - 88 rating - still here, played one game
Luke Work - 85 rating - played in 4 games this season

Saquon Miles - 87 rating - played in 1 game, probably red-shirting
Jakheem Shumpert Perkins - 85 rating - played in 2 games, probably red-shirting
Breyden Turnage - 85 rating - played in 1 game, probably redshirting

Koby Keenum - 87 rating
Jesse Ramil - 85 rating - transferred to Charlotte

I honestly don't even know where to start with this aside from saying that we got absolutely nothing out of Arnett's '23 class, and there are just 3 guys from the entire '24 class that are giving us anything. Other than those guys and Reese, our entire two deep O line is made up of '25 portal transfers, and we all know the story there where we whiffed early and then had to scramble less that 6 months ago just to field a team.

It's against my brand to be saying this, but I'm gonna cut Lebby some slack when it comes to OL play this season. Yes, it's his job to figure this out, and my patience will begin to wear thin if we're having this same convo in '26, but there was no chance that our OL was ever gonna be decent this year. The red flags were all there, and there are plenty of Spring threads where we were talking about it

That disparity wasn't there against TN, until the injuries. We'll have those guys back and be much better.

A lot of that is on A&M’s defense. But a lot is on Auburn & MSU offenses.
Texas A&Ms defense is pretty good. I bet they finish in the top 20 or top 15.

I disagree a little. If we stay healthy on the oline i think we had a shot to win 7 maybe luck into 8 definitely 6 wins though.

Now it really depends on whether some guys step up or not. Need 5 but 6-6 would be outstanding.
