Shirley nobody in their fanbase could believe all this, could they?

"nothing wrong with expecting perfection, but you'll not have it at your school. Your facilities are sub par, you have a small stadium, your town sucks a fat one, and you just can't compete with other SEC schools. This is one of the only reasons I like what Boone has done at Ole Miss. We've upgraded our stadium over the last couple of years and it is really nice. Chris Low of ESPN has even mentioned how our stadium and the way the players walk into the stadium is one of the best in the league. I'm excited about our future because I think we have a coach at Ole Miss that is a lot like Saban. I really believe in Coah Nutt. I've talked with him over the last 2 years on at least a dozen occasions and I can tell you that he is a godly man. But that's not all he is, either. The man is brilliant and he forces the best from our players. We struggled this year. It surprised most of us. We thought that after 2 great seasons and 2 Cotton Bowl wins that we were going to continue dominating. I'm sure MooU fans thought the same thing when y'all won the liberty bowl with croom. None of y'all thought you would be piss poor the next year. But it looks like MooU and Ole Miss have 2 coaches that aren't going anywhere anytime soon. The good thing about that from my perspective is that it means we'll continue to own this state in college football."

we don't even have to defend ourselves anymore. Our on the field play is speaking for itself, and theirs is doing the same thing. We just won 8 games, and are playing in a New Year's Day Bowl against a school with amazing football tradition.Ole Misswon 4 games, lost to Jax St and Vanderbilt, and lostto us for the 2nd year in a row. They lost to all 3 of their rivals, and just gave Nuttan extension for their 4 win season. They can continue to believe they are ahead of us and continue to gloat about how good they are, but they all know they aren't. They are in serious trouble, and we are finally showing we can rise from the cellar and compete in this league.

...I don't read any comments unders stories for any newspaper. It's absolutely the lowest common denominator. There literally is no such thing as intelligent conversation on those things...awful. I used to be entertained a little by that but I just can't even stand it anymore.

I have noticed town trash talk is what most Ole Miss fans are going with now. Thank goodness we have Oxford, Starkville sucks, blah, blah, blah.

being that the last memories I have of Oxford from MANY years ago was no different than that of Hattiesburg or for that matter, Pearl along Hwy 80. Even the campus was no different than that of Hinds CC for the most part. I never understand where they get that. It's more than apparent that those people haven't had a recent visit to Starkville. Every one I know that visits for the first time really likes it. Granted, every town in MS that is growing as of late has that run-down strip mall part of town. Even out-of-towners who have NO connection to State know what's going on there. There are developers here in Nashville that are looking at potential down there.

The only thing dumber that the comments under articles are the people who read them as if they will learn something.

Not only did you read it, you took the time to repost it as if it were surprising that some knuckle dragging idiot fan of ours doesn't like MSU.

It reminds me of the numerous "OM is obsessed with us" post I see here where an MSU poster with an OM Spirit subscription repost the delusionalcomments here. Evidently they don't find irony in the fact that they are paying to read a rebel board so that they can witness "the obsession".

Oxford is a great little southern town and the Ole Miss campus, while certainly very different from ours, is very nice. It doesn't look like a Junior College.

That being said, I think anyone who trashes Starkville hasn't been there in a while. The town has made amazing changes and has turned into a great place to go out. I wish I was going to college in this era.

but its ones like that where you can tell the person really thinks what they are writing I find really amazing. It's just sad when people are that out of touch with what is really happening.

I think some of your fanbase is waking up- but it still appears you guys are in denial much like State fans were about baseball when Bianco took over. Too many wake up after it's too late and then constantly ***** when they are at the bottom of the SEC suddenly. We've been lucky in basketball the SEC West cant get their **** together or we would be facing it in basketball too

Now get your little bitchy self back to nafoom where you belong

To say otherwise is to let your blind hatred of their sports programs consume you.

The campuses are different, and each has it's appeal.

Well will you pleasebe sure tocome back and give us a sociology lesson whena postive OM article comes out with dumb MSU comments below it?It happens you know?

Waking up in denial? You act as if your have reached the pinnacle of college football after a good season. How quickly you forget your sudden downturn after 2007 or our downturnin 2004 or last season. You were going to build a dynasty that "finished us" in 2001, 2008, and now in 2011. Forgive mefor not being too concerned.

You have a good coach. Your team is playing well, but I've seenenough of OM & MSU football over the years to know that their has neverbeen a period (at least in my lifetime) where you dominated.Again, you are good and I excpect you to be good next year, but its nothing to be fearful of.

Obsessed are we? Ole Miss fan on MSU board.

You add good conversation sometimes, but this is the type of **** you should just bite your tongue about since you're constantly on the MSU site "taking up" for Ole Miss.

I didn't do any "taking up in the post". I mentioned that both sides have idiots that make stupid comments under articles.

And for the record...this board is free. If I were paying (maybe your want to talk to JacksonDevilDogor oneof the many other MSU fans here paying Yancy and Chuck), as I mentioned in my post, you'd have a point.

I know what you are saying. Many MSU fans were fearful after 45-0 that it was over. Ole Miss was going to the National Championship the nextyear. Many rebels were worried in '07 that Croom was bout to takeover recruiting. '03 as well to an extent (everyone knew after Manning there would be an equalizer). '01 had to be disconcerting aswell.

But something strange happened all those times. A coaching change in '07 Nutt and '08 Mullen swayed momentum. Sherrill was out in '03 and Manning was graduating. In '01Sherrill just burned out, he was complacent. Probation and cheating rumors swirled. Same thingafter '94, he'd pulled a Nutt andsent Brewer packing, Ole Miss responds with Tuberville who beats Sherrill's *** on the recruiting trail even during probation. Then he punches you in the gut and leaves in '98, and we go the SEC ch'ip. Then Ole Miss signs Manning etc. etc. etc. etc.

But this year it's different. Mullen doesn't leave us for greener pastures. Ole Miss seems to be doing nothingbut feeling sorry for themselves. MSU has all the momentum and OleMiss is swimming in their own misery. We are winning the recruiting battle andhave instate for the past couple of years and stand to do it again next year when the bowl excitement carries over. Your guys aren't what they were made out to be. ****,we are taking guys from South Panola and Madison Central for crying out loud.

If this carries over next year, we'll have won 3 Egg Bowls in a row, and the momentum will be hard to stop. Ole Misswill have to make a big move to get it back. Hopefully you make a desperate move and not a smart one. And here I thought Nutt had already done that (Masoli).

Best you can hope for is Joe Pa stepping down and Penn State hiring Mullen. Because it appears that's the only job he's going to leave for.

I'd like to see a link to even one comment from any State fan that said in 2008 that we would bury Ole Miss with Croom.

State fans haven't been NEARLY as cocky as Ole Miss fans after 2008 and 2009. On the boards, multiple Rebs were claiming Bama and LSU status and putting down Arkansas and Auburn. But we are not doing that--with ourcurrent success we're not saying we're better than them. We're just saying we're better than YOU.

But it is not just State fans. The difference is that fans from all over, especially the SEC,could see an Ole Miss decline coming from a mile away as Orgeron's players left. Now it looks like OM is settling in the cellar, giving Nutta contract extension and raiseafter going 4-8, and keeping the defensive staff after producing the worst defense in Ole Miss history.

At the same time, our coach has turned down coaching interest from top programs, and fans and sportswriters from all over are very optimistic about our future.

30 years ago, State's campus was clearly much better looking than OM's. Since then, Ole Miss has done a lot of landscaping and their campuslooksgood. Now State's is again improving with a lot oflandscaping and also relocating roads and parking lots.

The square in Oxford is really nice, but the rest of Oxforddoesn't look any better than Starkville or any other small town in Mississippi.

P.S. Here's a 2009 article from aFlorida newspaper about how Starkville has progressed.

keep that line of thinking, it's exactly what I'm talking about. Just because Mississippi hadnt been better in baseball than us in the last 50 years, State fans just assummed it wasnt going to happen now- and it did...2001 is well-documented, and only delusional State fans thought Crooms had turned a corner in 2007.

State is in the best shape it's ever been in currently. Mullen will have his best teams the next 2 years- We have a young roster with alot of guys that have played returning next year. After 2012- who knows until we see more recruiting? But I like our chances.

I dont want you to be worried. Keep up the "all is well" line of thinking. And by all means- please keep Houston Nutts as your coach.

Agree. UM's campus is beautiful. The landscape, the trees, the architecture - everything. It is a really pretty place.

Now the basketball facility sucks. And their football stadium looks like an assortment of used parts picked up at garage sales. But otherwise, the campus is quite nice.

and for the record, I agree completely with you. The programs of UM and MSU baseball over the past decade can't be compared, we know who was the best. But even in our biggest time of futility, a complacent coach was about to string together a good recrootin class or two and wind up on the biggest stage in college baseball. And the better program during that time has yet to reach that benchmark.

Unfortunately for them we've woken up and their best opportunity may have slipped away. Really just bad friggin' luck on their part. </p>

...is the stadium smack. Their stadium looks terrible. I mean, the endzone expansion looks nice, but it doesn't match anything else in the stadium. The overhang design looks retarded.

I agree with the other comments about their campus...it's nice and to say otherwise is ridiculous. Our campus holds its own in comparison, though. Not better or worse, but certainly beautiful in its own right. As far as stadiums go, however, theirs might be the worst in the conference. At least Vandy's stadium looks like some thought was put into the construction.

Nobody has accused you of taking up for UM in this thread. I want to see your replies, because good points were madein response to yours, somewhatputting some holes inyour argument. That's all. YOU personally are trying to steer towards the smack, as noted in the abovequote, because it appears that you've been beaten.

If we win a third egg bowl next year, something BAD has got to happen in Starkville for Ole Miss to turn things around. There is just no way they could recover after that (with in state recruiting at least). Our Mississippi kids are gonna be begging to get to play for us.

Guy at church the other day (who is an ole miss fan) said that he believed the entire SEC was gonna get Mullened next year. He said he figured we'd win the west in 2 years........I actually think he was being serious too.
