Is it possible that because OU doesn't have a viable backup at QB, Baker might feel he can't be benched, and it's gone to his head?

With Knight gone, there's really no competition at the position.

Theres a backup, look what the true freshman at Texas did. Kendall is just as good if not better than Buchelle. But we all know that Bob will not bench Mayfield unless he is hurt

I have no issue with Mayfield being a gunslinger, when the need arises. But to actively seek personal glory over sound game planning is a red flag imo.

The ray of light was Stoops stating in a presser or his Dean show that Mayfield was not going with the called play - even when open - and instead held on to it for the downfield play. Bob is not making a big deal about this in the press so as not embarrass Baker, but I am hopeful Baker's getting an earful in practice and in film this week of how his antics are hurting us.
