AS the CD player in my Suburban does not work I have to rely on 95.7 QMF, 107.7 SFR and occasionly 103.5 WAKY living and working in the Louisville area. My truck has a jammin' Bose Sound System in it except for the CD player. I could get a new one but I don't really want somebody to fool around with all of the electrical in there. I hear it is hard to put an aftermarket system in them.

1. Heart (I think not)
2. Kiss (severely overrated)
3. Fleetwood Mac (nada)
4. Most late 80's bands Great White, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue etc.
5. Tom Petty (generic sound)
6. John Mellencamp (too annoyingly Liberal for me}
7. Increasingly CCR {I like only about 3 of their songs anymore}
8. Elton John ( I can't bend my hand that way and his band is too soft)
9. ....and a question for SFR when the hell did Blondie and 10. Billy Joel become classic Rock and Roll?
and why do they play Billy Squire so much.

On another note I have wondered lately what Elvis music would sound like with a better rock and roll band behind him. I think it would be neat if someone could rerecord his voice with a harder edge sound behind him but I guess it would take years to do his whole catalog.

I keep it on Gen X radio when I'm near Louisville (It's been a while, I hope it's still on the air).

I agree with Adam. Magic vapor shop douche has almost driven me to smoking (or murder).

We have Sirius, but same kind of rules apply.

Since I have younger kids, the top two are Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. They're good singers and role models or whatever, but I just can't take it. Channel is getting changed.

On the 90s channel, Nickelback (obviously), Creed, 3 Doors Down and Lifehouse.

80s, not too much I won't listen too because of nostalgia, but they have some kind of deal with the Devil and Howard Jones, so that gets the quick switch.

As to the OP's second point, I would love to hear some of the early Motown groups recorded in a good studio and not in a rushed setting.

You can broadcast your iPhone/iPad/iPod on a radio channel with a cheap plug in from best buy. Worth it.

Yep! And and time a Morgan and Morgan commercials comes on. I'd rather listen to Zamfir and Yanni than either of those 2 asshat pitchmen.

To pile on to the Elvis comment; I believe it was a crime that Tom Parker "sold" him to Hollywood during what would have been in my opinion his prime.

While The Beatles were doing Sgt. Peppers and The White Album, while Zeppelin was launching, while Hendrix, The Who, and The Stones were hitting stride, Elvis was doing Kissin Cousins.

Understanding that he never would have had a sound as hard as the bands mentioned above - he undoubtedly would have had a harder/more relative sound.

I believe this is evidenced by his later output of Burning Love most clearly - rocking piano, driving beat, contemporary lyrics. Add to that Suspicious Minds and Kentucky Rain and you can see that even though those tracks are still watered down somewhat compared to what would have been his peers; they are directionly correct.
