no doubt our year has been a disappointment to most — or at least
to those who were keg-stand funneling the Kool-Aid at the beginning
of the year.While I'm not about to argue that we're anywhere
close to where we want to be, I think we need to apply some
appropriate perspective to the year. We have lost four games
to teams currently ranked in the top 20 in the country. The two
“winnable†games that hurt the most: the loss at Auburn and the home
loss to South Carolina. The good news: we didn't play great in either game and
yet we still had great chances to win at the end. Of the other two, one
was a “winnable†game at home to the No. 1 team in the country.
We didn't play perfect but we played well enough to be in the game
late. The only “bad loss†I see so far is the Georgia game. </font></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 0.42in; "><font color="#000000"><font face="Times"><font size="4" style="font-size: 16pt">In
the win column, I think the Kentucky game on the road was a good one
and that La. Tech win is looking better by the day, even though we
didn't play well at home. </font></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 0.42in; "><font color="#000000"><font face="Times"><font size="4" style="font-size: 16pt">My
point: I think we have a respectable shot at winning two of our final
three and getting to a solid bowl.
