Now that the board has quieted a bit from basketball season/Stans' retirement announcement, I thought I'd take a chance and share this story that happened a couple weeks ago.
Recently, I've been looking to buy a new car and one of the cars that I was looking at was an Accord, so I stopped by Bob Boyte Honda in Brandon to see what they had and maybe take a test drive. So, I'm in the lot looking around, and I see a salesman walking towards me that looks familiar for some reason. That's when he said, "Hey man can I help you? My name's Derek Dunn." Yep.
What happened next might go down as the most shameful moment of my existence, so I'll ask for a pardon with the understanding that I may not deserve it: I shook his hand. I know what you must be thinking, but at this exact moment, I was trying so hard not to laugh in this guy's face that I completely lost focus on what I was doing until it was too late - an out of body experience if you will.
Now, I know it must be shocking for everyone on here that he's not a high level executive at Google by now or sitting at home because he didn't need to work. I was just as surprised as you are.
Anyways, just thought I'd share an update on our distinguished Award's namesake.
Oh and for full disclosure, I proceeded to test drive 3 cars that day and bought my car two days later....from Patty Peck.
