A scouting report on Nwora

The guy loses all credibility with me when he states Nwora has “above average ball handling skills”. Nothing is further from the truth. I stopped reading his analysis with that statement.
Too be honest thats the only thing he was a bit off on he nailed everything else on him
The glaring mistatement about his ball skills tells me that the guy hasn’t truly seen Nwora play that much. Don’t know who helped him formulate the scout, but I’m dismissing it due to his BS written about Nwora’s ball skills.
Not sure where the guy comes up with Nwora having a “high release” - kid releases the ball at his forehead. Also, I think anyone who watched him all year would question the rosy bit about his defense.
The part about his handle being good is laughable. He dribbles too high and too far from his body which resulted in all of the strips. Kid has talent for sure. Love to see him take the Cam Johnson route and work hard and come back.

What I see is a guy with a really good shooter with a quick trigger, great range and a good feel for the game on the offensive side of the game. He is not a good passer, not a willing passer, and has issues with turnovers. He is good enough with his handles because his role would be spot up shooter. He doesn't need to be a magician with the ball his drives will be off ball fakes. Offensively, his game is similar to Klay Thompson (not skill level).
Defense is his problem, it is average when he gets going on offense and flat freaking terrible when his offense struggles. He will get abused on the defensive side of the ball in the NBA. Here is the thing he has all the tools to be really good, not elite, on defense. He needs to bulk up and commit to being great on defense. That is where coming back to Louisville makes the most sense.
There is no way I draft him without seeing him buy into defense. The same goes for Enoch.

His ball handling skills are average, and not anywhere near great or elite. Also his shot release is fairly quick but not high. His step back shot is a wee bit above average for someone his age. He could benefit from another year in college IMO, but I don't expect him to return.
Well not to my surprise, he is testing the NBA waters.

He (Nwora) needs to have a heart to heart with one Darrell Griffith about learning how to handle a basketball.
I wish Jordan well but he really, really needs to come back to UofL and experience the coaching of Chris Mack.

He actually has a very low release point on his shot. The kind that gets shoved down your throat at the next level.
I had the same problem as a kid. It's the reason my eyes go one way and my nose another.
He's doing what he should do. He will get plenty of advice from NBA people about where he stands regarding his deficiencies based on workouts, and has until June to pull his name, or go pro. If picked in the latter part of the second round, he'll get a smaller contract and spend the next two years in the D league. If Jordon comes back, works hard and successfully minimizes those deficiencies, he could easily move into the first round, get a bigger contract with guarateed money and a better shot at sticking in the league. I hope he comes back.
The fallacy to this is they really don’t get negative feedback at least not “you suck and shouldn’t be here” everything is put into a positive spin in the hopes that a sleeper materializes. Imagine if scouts told Mitchell (not comparing Mitchell and Nwora) that he needed another year. They dwell on positives and if a guy is dificient they’ll just tell him, “we can work on that if we need to depending on who drafts you”
Nwora doesn't play NBA level defense, on that point, great college level defense. He disappears at times when his team really needs him. He's not a leader or a player that makes his team better. He reminds me of Deng Adel: Good individual talent, but doesn't make his team better. If he thinks he's better off going, good luck bud. Maybe you and Deng can be teammates somewhere on the other side of the planet
