A Tad bit worried tonight.

The Bears are way past due (all sports combined) against us. Now we've given them some bulletin board material. Hopefully Dee & company back it up like they've always have in the past against the Bears. Their inside presence is fairly (long & athletic) could be enough slow down Moultrie some. I think it will be up to Dee, Steele, & Hood to hit from the outside. Dee & Deville must drive & create. I feel one that will go down to the wire. Much needed win here, knowing we go to Vandy Sat.

the top 100 RPI come March (along with LSU, Auburn, and USCe). Although Stans seems to have Kennedy's number when it comes to playing them, we MUST look at this game as a must win. Any slip up between here, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, and Arkansas at home could really hold us back... and a single loss could mean as much as two seeds in the NCAAT.

ETA: Just did the math... and if we simply win the games we are supposed to... Arky at home, sweep OM, LSU, Auburn, and USCe... that puts us at 10 wins already. That would mean not a single bad loss on our resume and less pressure to win in the tournament. That would also mean stealing a game against Vandy, Florida, Kentucky, or Bama could do nothing but help our cause. Winning the games you are supposed to win is the key to the game from this point forward.

To be honest I like the billboards we've created, but somehow I thinkplayers running smack before an away game would seem to put us at a disadvantage. Maybe I'm being paranoid.</p>

talking smack before the UM games. After one game Coach Kennedy even commented how Rhodes said what he was going to do before the game and then went out and did it.

to force them to shoot 3s, and by blocking out on the defensive end. The blocking out is what worries me, but Sidney seems to bring his A game every time we play OM, so perhaps he will display some actual fundamentals tonight.

now granted we've only played 2 true road games this year but they consisted of a VERY close call at Detroit and getting a butt whooping in Fayetteville. We normally play pretty well at the Tad Pad but I'm definitely not brimming with confidence.

My argument with Stansbury is that he doesn't give his full coaching effort at times. Like Akron, Western Kentucky, Houston, the bad loses he usually sort of sits there and is rather passive. And it shows with the team. But you bring in Kentucky to the Hump and he's all over the place, yelling, calling sets, etc... The team feeds off of it and we play great Basketball. Ole Miss is one of those teams that Stansbury wants to dominate, he won't even employ the 'stall' on them. I just don't see anyone from Ole Miss stopping Moultrie and Sidney tonight. I think they get 40+ points between the two.And if Dee gets his shot back it'll be a rout.

Our team still hasn't learned that you play defense by moving and with your feet......I expect them to take it right at Sid and get him in foul trouble early.............I hope I'm wrong..........

But on the road. smh. All I gotta say is... Better back it Mr. Bost.

Anyone hear the Stans interview? I caught the tail end on the news last night... He was talking about the season results are all about how that schedule falls... Something about 2 road games can easily result in 2 losses. Vice versa with home games. Whatever was said, kinda made me think, road games are pretty much losses to come.

They went small and ran track on us and hit TONS of jump shots. That same style of play has bitten them in the *** because they can't hit the broad side of the barn... i.e. quick rebounds and transition buckets going the other way. That's what happened with us. For a while, we tried to run with them and they ran us out of the gym. We didn't adjust well on defense and tried to control the perimeter instead of the paint and they were able to use Sanchez down low.

We have GOT to control the tempo, more than anything. OM could potentially go Arkansas on us and have people hitting shots from everywhere in transition, but I don't think they pose the threat to us in transition that Arkansas did. If we force them into scoring in half court sets, we should win this game. We need to use our bigs and get them in foul trouble... take smart shots and don't turn the ball over. The basics.

I have no idea how Rhodes didn't end Gary Ervin's pathetic little life when he popped him in the balls during that game in Starkville. Can't remember whether it was his junior or senior year... At the least, I have no idea how that little prick wasn't suspended once the SEC saw footage of the event. I get how the refs missed it, but the cameras sure caught it.

If they allow Ole Miss to turn this game into a hand checking slap fest and swallow the whistle then it could get ugly. If they call it right then I can see Moultrie and Sid getting Buckner and Holloway in foul trouble which would mean game over for Ole Miss. Hopefully Stansbury won't have to go berzerk like he did several years ago at the Hump when he got tossed out in order to get the refs to call fouls.

this thread is where I found out that we're playing MSU tonight. Won't be watching or keeping up with the slop fest, and will probably find out the final score sometime tomorrow morning.

From the little I've seen of us this year and from what I know about Kennedy historically, just play 40 minutes of zone. The only way we can hurt you in a zone is with Holloway killing you on the boards. Play zone and keep him off the boards and we'll score about 50 points.

about how he had a good feeling they would win, and Kennedy is a master motivator and strategist and had his team ready to go? Also how he watched the entire game and all that ********? I'll buy that.

We are an NIT team at best, have been all year. I tried watching some of us early this year, but I just couldn't make myself watch very much. It isn't fun. I haven't watched a game from tip to buzzer, haven't even come close. You can go look at some of my posts on Nafoom if you'd like. I was calling us an NIT team back when we were 9-1 with an over-inflated RPI and many of the optimists were getting their hopes up for an NCAA bid.

For the record, I won't be shocked if we do win tonight. Stansbury's boys play a brand of basketball that allows them to lose to mediocre basketball teams on occasion. Still won't change my outlook on the season one bit. We are what we are, and I don't care to spend much time watching it. I know how the story ends.

They will also have someone like Nick Williams or Jarvis Summers go off for 26 tonight. Our shooting struggles make me nervous about this game. Our inability to attack a zone defense worry me about this game. Sidney getting out of control and picking up 2 stupid fouls 3 minutes into the game make me nervous about this game. If we want to win, the refs need to let the teams play. If they start calling ticky tack calls, we will be in trouble. They will pressure Bost out high. He never plays well when they extend the defense out to him and "D" him up. You can honestly watch the first 5 minutes of the game tonight and get a good feeling about how we will do.
