a possible SEC title, Heisman and national championship await you.

It just won't be there for long.

No one is patting ourselves on the back. We cheat too. We buy tires and pay for summer school tuition though.

I don't recall anyone saying our hero Bond brought mighty AU down. Why would Bond break this right in the middle of an already very emotional week?

and let's get something straight.

rejoicing in another team's unfortunate circumstance

Take your "unfortunate circumstances" ******** and shove it up your lame ***. An "unfortunate circumstance" is when a 21 year old is cut down in the prime of life by a horrible disease.

It is NOT the aftermath of having been caught intentionally participating in the modern day equivalent of slave trading.

Now, run on back over to Lowderville and roll toomer's corner one more time.

i am sure they didn't take the decision to do so lightly and covered as much of our *** before doing so. we will see I guess.

i am not rejoicing that we broke this story. i'd much rather it be Arkansas or Bama or even Ole Miss, as long as it still showed we didn't join in the purchase of a player. this thing is toxic and i hope our name is as far away from it as possible sooner than later. </p>

auburn fans keep saying that since we continued to recruit cam the right way even though we knew he was shopping for money, that it makes the story untrue and exonerates cam altogether......why would we quit recruiting him? if we didn't pay him and he ended up signing with us anyway, then he isn't tainted.....

Yeah I knew I was going to get killed for this. Butto interject a little thought in to your usual mindless banter I see on here. There are currently no allegations against AU and nothing has been proven againast Cam. Your main point the last year has been he was MS State's tolose- he had to be paid off! Really? Maybe his dad was able to get him to step back from his ralationship with Mullen and look at the facts. I am not a homer and realize AU is not a goliath in college football, but go play for State? I dogive your team and coach credit - you have had an impressive year thus far. But look at recent histroy, hell look back the entirity of the 20th century - you guys have flat out sucked!!! No offense but there were plenty of reasons for him to pick AU over State. From facilities, stadium, fan support, you name itwe have you beat. I realize it is hard to take the shades off sometimes.

Also realize this, Barbee, Auburn's new BBall coach has not signed a contract andis about to pack his bags over our complianace department being to stiff. This same compliance department knew about thisin July and cleared him to play. A. either we covered our tracks pretty damn good or B. they find that the Newtons were not guilty of the accusations. Remeber Cam had good potential at this time but was not the superstar he is now. No way they would have played him, when at the time his greatness on the field was unknown, if they thought it would lead to trouble down the road. TIFWIW

The media is like a little kid poking a dead animal with a stick. They only start yelling about it to all their friends when they find maggots. The fact that the NYT and 3 of the major writers from ESPN all broke the story nearly simultaneously means they've been poking at it for a long time, and they've found a whole bunch of maggots.

Last December the choice of which college to attend came down to two schools—Auburn and Mississippi State. Newton preferred Starkville because of his close relationship with Bulldogs coach Dan Mullen, who had been Newton's offensive coordinator at Florida. But Cecil thought his son should choose Auburn, which had an experienced offensive line (four starters were returning) and was only a two-hour drive from Atlanta. Newton let his father make the final decision, and a few days before Christmas, while sitting at the dinner table in his brother's house in Jacksonville, Cecil Sr. uttered two words that would radically alter the college football landscape: "It's Auburn."
And a tutorial:

His dad didn't want him playing for a second rate program. You gusy are State man! I know deep down you realize this. Hell if I was his Dad I wouldn't want to come to your shi#$y stadium and listen to all of those damn cowbells either. You guys call that a game day atmosphere but it just a joke just like your football program.

Are you shitting me? Don't bring that Auburn big time ******** over here. You were a 7 win team last year. You had a few proven quality receivers and question marks at running back. Yes, a quality offensive line returning, and a defense with some question marks too as we have seen this year. Don't act like if Cam "stepped away from his relationship with Mullen" that the choice was any easier. We were also returning 4/5 starters on the OL, we also had a few quality playmakers. The situations weren't that different to be honest. Yes, historically, Auburn is more prestigious, but if his dad didn't want him to be the "rented mule" here, then why did he send him to Auburn to accout for almost 70% of their total offense this season? The money. That why. He thought Cam didn't get enough coming out of high school, if he got any, so he was damn sure gonna get all he could this time around. I don't think this is all Cam's fault, in fact, I think very little of the blame goes on him, but his dad was running the show for him, and got in bed with the wrong people, mainly Rogers.
