And, when any information comes out that in any way casts a school in a negative light, the rival fanbases of that school will react. If you areoffended bythat and are attempting to rectify thatwith your first post, then you are naive and don't understand human nature whatsoever.

I guess you've never heard any AU fangofurther than the facts allow on Saban's cutting players orMasoli/UM ridicule or theregular stuff that comes out. Well, just know that whenthe recruitment of AU's best player is a lead national story, SEC fans are going to speculate, rejoice, laugh, ponder, and pontificate. That has nothing to do with whether or not MSU's recruiting practices are legit. Your first post wasjust an emotional knee jerk reaction that will make your future here among our mindless banterdifficult to overcome.

By the way, there is a little extra interest here, since everything that has emerged thus far has been discussed heresince last December. But I guess you would never speculate about any impropriety ifAU recruited a guy for months, had the strongest connection with the player of any school involved, and then another team jumped in at the last moment and got the guy after recruiting him for 3 weeks.Newton was not a Heisman candidate when rumors started to swirl.

You don't have us beat in player personnel of coaching staff. And in this day and age of "how do I get to the next level" mentality, most guys don't give a damn about your history, stadium, fan support, etc. I'm not suggesting that State is some grand gateway to the NFL, but neither is Auburn right now.

They found that the Newtons were not guilty of the accusations? Really? So Auburn put together a thorough investigation this summer and found them innocent? You do realize that the extent of Auburn's investigation would've probably been something along the lines of this:

AU: "So Cecil. Did you shop Cam around to different schools last year during his recruiting?
Cecil: "Absolutely not! That's preposterous!"
AU: "Got it. That's what we figured."

I get that you're an Auburn guy, and you so badly don't want any of this to be true. But like you said, there are no current allegations against AU. So why do you care what we say about it? If, later down the line, there are allegations levied against AU, how will you spin it then? If the allegations prove to be true, and AU is slammed by the NCAA, what then will be your story?

I'm glad to see you're not a "homer" like you stated in your first post. Anyways, you may think we are a joke of a football program right now, but let's wait a couple years and see where your program is after all this **** goes down.

By the way please learn how to 17ing reply.

Jumped in at the last second on a recruit my first thought would not be "he was paid". It would be "he wanted to go to a more prestigous program".

Also realize this, Barbee, Auburn's new BBall coach has not signed a
contract andis about to pack his bags over our complianace department
being to stiff. This same compliance department knew about thisin July
and cleared him to play. A. either we covered our tracks pretty damn
good or B. they find that the Newtons were not guilty of the
accusations. Remeber Cam had good potential at this time but was not
the superstar he is now. No way they would have played him, when at the
time his greatness on the field was unknown, if they thought it would
lead to trouble down the road. TIFWIW
I love how Auburn people are trying to justify the Newton stuff by using basketball compliance as an example. That is truly stupid, and yes, I am calling you stupid.

If you know anything about Auburn sports, which at this point seems doubtful, then you would understand the reason Barbee and the compliance office are at odds is over recruits connected to Mark Komara. Barbee even told Komara's son he could walk on, only to have him pulled off the court at practice and told he could not be on the team, even though he was a videographer last year. Point it, their issues are over things which are evident. Which AAU team you played for, who coached it, what shoes, and is your last name Komara.

The Cam incident, if indeed AU did do anything wrong, was certainly not a compliance issue. Do you really think Cheezit or Towler Taylor would walk into Rich McGlynn's office and say, "Hey, we're about to spend $200,000 on a quarterback. You cool with that??" If Cheezit paid Cecil or anyone connected, he did it without the knowledge of compliance and would lie through his gum-smacking lips about it.

Good lord you are desperate to find a way to make Auburn innocent.

And if this had been Bama or Florida I would feel the same way, but it wasn't. It was Auburn... a second tier SEC team sitting right next to us. Sorry to burst your bubble bud, but you ain't in that "prestigious" tier. The only difference is that we have made peace with it.

Take your "unfortunate circumstances" ******** and shove it up your lame ***. An "unfortunate circumstance" is when a 21 year old is cut down in the prime of life by a horrible disease.

It is NOT the aftermath of having been caught intentionally participating in the modern day equivalent of slave trading.

Now, run on back over to Lowderville and roll toomer's corner one more time.
Enjoy your sour grapes, kid...

Yeah I knew I was going to get killed for this. Butto interject a little thought in to your usual mindless banter I see on here.
First off, nice sentence fragment... I see your fine institution taught you well, unless of course you're a sidewalk alumnus like 99% of Bammer fans. Second, thanks for reading...

There are currently no allegations against AU and nothing has been proven againast Cam. Your main point the last year has been he was MS State's tolose- he had to be paid off! Really?
Yes, really. That's pretty much the crux of this whole situation.

Maybe his dad was able to get him to step back from his ralationship with Mullen and look at the facts. I am not a homer and realize AU is not a goliath in college football, but go play for State? I dogive your team and coach credit - you have had an impressive year thus far. But look at recent histroy, hell look back the entirity of the 20th century - you guys have flat out sucked!!! No offense but there were plenty of reasons for him to pick AU over State. From facilities, stadium, fan support, you name itwe have you beat. I realize it is hard to take the shades off sometimes.

Also realize this, Barbee, Auburn's new BBall coach has not signed a contract andis about to pack his bags over our complianace department being to stiff. This same compliance department knew about thisin July and cleared him to play. I'm going with A-2) Covered your tracks, but not quite good enough...

Bond seems to be a honest first. Second he played football with Rogers and apparently has a relationship. Why in the hell would Bond fabricate a story that involved a Friend? Plain and simple he would not. I think what happen was they were shopping Newton and Newton wanted to go to state but his father was thinking money and to please both Rogers compromise on the amount and went to state. He could not do it openly so he had to find someone he trusted to dropped the hint. He went to Bond and Bond was not the guy to go to. Rogers misjudged his friend. In my opinion the story is true, I just don't see Bond stabing a Friend in the back to fabricate a story.

We didn't turn in Auburn, we didn't turn in the Newtons. We turned in someone that claimed he represented the Newton's, and then tried to sell "Cam's rights" to us.

Whether the Newton's had anything to do with this or whether Auburn participated has nothing to do with what we did. If the investigation turns up that both Cecil and Auburn is dirty then they will get what the deserve. If they did nothing wrong then they have nothing to worry about.

At when Cecil acquired the money for the church renovations,it was in September 2009. To my knowledge there was only one team that was recruiting Newton at this time. He wasn't even on AU's radar until November, when they went to his Jr College. Looks like maybe State lost $180k on a church in Atlanta, GA and got their panties ina wad.

He got the extension from the city council in September. It wasn't until this spring that they started on the renovations. Cecil knew that he had 6 months to shop out Cam. There would have been no need to get an extension from the city council of Newnan last September if he already had the money since they could begin renovations immediately.
