Is he somehow going to coach better because he must win? If so, why hasn't he been coaching better the last 2 weekends? That kind of stuff is overblown. They're not doing as good as they did earlier in his career because they just aren't as good as they were then. The fact that this could be a must-win game for him doesn't change that.

with him being a really nice guy, he seems like a players coach. With his coaching job on the line... I can see the players getting fired up just in time for our game, to save his ***. We are Miss State. Though, on the switch side, we are due to play well... plus we're at home. We have to match the intensity and then some to pull it off.

Our program needs this win worse. At home, needing a "signature" win, fan-base quickly becoming frustrated and fragmented.... Richt, fate will be sealed regardless. He will not get mullen'd because if we play to our potential, one could argue he lost to a good team.

I was thinking heads would roll if GA left StarkSville 0 - 3 and that may be, but this win is bigger for us being at home.

Maybe so, but I also think this game plays in our favor. We have the front 7 to stop a between the tackles running team. And a redshirt freshman QB with 3 starts and the lack of a #1 WR is a very nice gift for our young secondary.

If our offense hadn't been so bad these past 2 weeks I'd be extremely confident in a win Saturday. But as it is being a home game at least, I think we have a better than average shot at the win.

this season is going to be a disappointment whether they win at MSU or not. Its just going to be worse if they lose to us. Regardless of what they do this weekend they are likely going to lose 2 or 3 more games this year (still have @KY, FL, @Aub, GT) and a 8-4 or 7-5 record will be WELL below team expectations going into the season. Anyway, I've never seen teams play well that are playing out of desparation, usually just means they play tight.

why wouldn't he considering our past? we are definitely a must win for him but i don't see him all of the sudden finding some new coaching gear mid-season because he "has" to win.

the only issue we do have is that he will definitely be more focused on taking it one game at a time and may do his due diligence against a team that he would not have done so otherwise. what he finds out through that process, i don't know. i bet it would include rushing the hell out of relf and russell though.

in fact, yall look (a little)more competitvethan I expected.

I think the "signature" win will be in Oxford and will get yall bowling.

beating a 2-9 team on the road is not really a signature win. It would be enjoyable, and if we do beat them, I won't take that away from Dan, but to me signature means top 25 team or a team with big time tradition.

And yes, we could call Ole Miss last year signature since they were 25th at the time even though it is pretty clear now that they are on the decline.

...he is finished @ UGA.

So yes, this is a must win for Richt.

Problem for Richt is, Dan Mullen is about to start entering his own must win territory soon, so you can rest assured Mullen is going to enter this game loaded for bear his own damn self.
