Will he appeal? If so, can't he play until its upheld?

Yes he will appeal

And will be able to play until they decided. Probably another few weeks

While it is a terrible contract

To say they created this circus by giving the contract is ridiculous. Arod doing steroids created this circus

Well you can say that about any player

I was pointing out the size of the contract didn't cause the circus

Not a homer at all

Hell I hope he gets banned for life. Just saying that claiming the size of contract is what caused the circus is stupid as hell

If he wasn't 38 with $100MM left on his contract, he most likely would have fallen in line with the others and disappeared for awhile. The contract left him no choice but to fight it.

So the contract was a contributing factor to the circus.

Yeah, arod obviously needs the money. That is what it is about.....

Athletes have never been known as excellent money managers, and $100M is a boatload of money to anyone. It's roughly 1/3 of his career earnings. This suspension alone will cost him $31M. If it's not completely about the money, it's a very high percentage. He's not going to be breaking any records on the field anytime soon, a World Series this year is highly unlikely, and he doesn't have a prayer's chance in hell of getting into the HOF now. There aren't many reasons on the field for him to fight to play.

The fun part will be watching the Yankees deal with the circus they essentially created by giving him that insane contract.
The Yankees created this circus by giving him a ton of money?

There are a few things that created this circus before money.

- Continued lying on ARod's part which keeps the story at the forefront and keeps people digging for more dirt.
- The fact that he plays in the biggest media spot in all of sports.
- His pure talent and record setting accomplishments that made him a superstar.

- probably one or two more reasons that I cant think of off the top of my head because I dont care enough and am tired.

- ...insane contract.

And he will get some games knocked off in his appeal

Wile i would love for him to be banned for life, my guess is he ends up playing the rest of the season and sits out all of next year. As full of **** as he is his lawyers and the union have a case on giving him that many games without ever failing a drug test. Unfortunately he will be back in 2015 for another few years
