Pope thinking about dusting off the relentless full court press Pitino used to throw out?

Outside of fouls, that's gotta be the most direct way to impose your will and use your depth, right?

Just never let the opponent breathe or freely think/see the court without some guy(s) in their face
Man the good old relentless press. The run and gun offense. We sure have the horses to back it up next year and wear some teams OUT!!!!

Yeah? You think fan support is why Aberdeen transferred?

Come on, mate. Kentucky blew UF away on the offer. Kentucky had extra money to spend and Aberdeen was willing to take it.
It is always about money. Silly to think otherwise. Some guys do pick schools where they can shoot as many shots as they please but it would be foolish to think that those guys also are not lured in by money.

Good Lord, the motor this team SHOULD have next year will be intense. Not sure if we've seen it since the 15' campaign and platooning. I'm almost at SHOCK level looking at the athleticism, strength and increased rebounding ability this team will have - over and above the energy and effort aspect.

If this team plays with its' hair on fire on both ends of the floor, it's gonna result in some real beatdowns next year, all we gotta' do is wait and see.

yes, where are those brave souls complaining because either we were poor or had money and stupidly refused to spend it? Someday someone should do an expost analysis of portal season - not only what actually happened, but the caterwauling that also occurred in real time.....
But according to several goobers on here we don’t have the $ to compete with other schools. 🙄

Do you idiots ever stop to think that maybe we just don’t want to bust our whole nut on 2-3 players???
Where is @Butters' Dad anyway ?

and with that many highly intense players, it will spread throughout the entire roster.
It only took one guy in Alijah Martin to bring that defensive edge and dog like mentality to help change our defensive issues. Having a bunch of guys that can buy in to playing hard nose defense and holding others accountable will definitely pay off.

He asked for more money than we paid Alijah Martin this year and more money than we paid Clayton Jr last year. We offered him more than we paid Alijah. Seems like a fair offer to me. I would think that UK had to probably give him close to that 2 mill
I know the figures, and I suspect your information is incorrect.

Also, today's add, the news of our $20mil NIL, and having our roster complete.. warrants this gif. I use it sparingly, but I think it's deserved.

RP was the one who introduced the two fouls in the first half and you sit philosophy. It was how he distributed PT with a deep roster

It's crazy that a guy who averaged 7 ppg, 2 rebounds and 1 assists gets $2 million+

I don't see how this is sustainable long term.
What did he average when he started due to injuries? Answer 14ppg, 4rpg in 27 minutes instead of 19 or so minutes being broken up. I think he will be fine here. Tons better player than his stats.

Looks like we got what we all felt like we needed, and Aberdeen being available this late in the portal cycle, with all the intangibles the staff is looking for .... Good Lord, what a monster roster !

(I said wayyyyy back in January, after the awesome start, just before the injury situation killed us, when we were a possible 1 seed projection .... "We will be preseason top 5 after CMP gets his roster NEXT year" .... looking at the landscape now, I can see why Houston and Purdue would be projected 1,2. Kentucky solidly sits at #3 looking at it on paper, just like I felt - and said - we would be.)

And it's not like preseason rankings mean squat .... Yet the roster look has the feel of a final four contender from the very start next year. And I said ALL ALONG to have faith and trust in Coach Pope. He loves Kentucky basketball, breathes and lives it every bit as much and more - than the fans do. Is everyone finally convinced now ? Personally, I feel even better now, having a simple faith and trust in Coach Pope that we would be in good hands for a LONG time.

Proof ain't only in the puddin' any longer ... for BBN, it's in the ....

BOOM !!!!

Go Big Blue !

PS - and who wouldn't be surprised for yet another addition ? It got crazy talented here in a hurry, didn't it ?
Pope has been amazing. If anything I just want to thank him for getting my Dad back interested in Kentucky basketball. Cals last years I couldn’t even hold a conversation about UK basketball with my dad. Now he’s texting me saying he’s pumped up for next season! So just for that alone thank you Coach Pope.

Don't worry they will be back one has a post already that states we have to many players now and want be able to keep them happy
Sounds on par lol. It's like you could a) relax let the roster work itself out b) kick and scream at every players commitment elsewhere. It's ridiculous.

I haven't been this excited about a Kentucky team since 2014-2015.

The depth on this team feels like 1995-level (that team earned a 1 seed). This team actually looks deeper.

Lots of very good pieces, with no definitive star player, but certainly a team that can come at opponents in waves and break them down psychologically.
I’ve heard about the 96 team my whole life. It’s always been “ that’s by far the best college team to ever exist “ so I will be happy to see something similar one day. The Wisconsin year probably wipes that team out if they brought that championship home but they didn’t so I’m still waiting.

Well Got Datum.... didn't know that.

Did he teach that to my middle school and high school coaches that did the same things from 1970-75?
