Of course he could have, he chose not to. He’s better than anyone on our roster, IMO, which isn’t saying much.
Disagree, the guy averaged 13 points on a team that most on here said was horrible and mid major level. He was average at best. Wilkins and Zoom are both upgrades

He loved shooting the rock. So did Oweh. They may have kept us in some games but they definitely cost us some trying to get theirs.

I wish him the best but glad he is gone. He was a very selfish player.
You are so wrong. Don’t know what you watched last season but you are wrong. Geez.

Horrible take, he avg 13 out of position in a disfunctional squad. If he played his natural
position he would have performed better. Florida is gonna look good next year and I bet if he went back he’d be starting.

You’re like that guy in school that everyone ignores while you pick on on the smart kids who are going to blast you on life lol.

Cool. I’m pretty happy being a teacher and basketball coach, so if that means that they passed me in life, I’m good with it. 😜

Some of those kids you speak of, rent a property from me today. 🤭

The post I commented on said that Aberdeen was better than anyone that we have gotten, if I’m so off then You might want to inform the portal experts that they need to adjust Aberdeen‘s number 65 ranking. BTW Zoom and Wilkins are both ranked higher.

So to clarify when you said he was average at best your basing that solely on his ranking in the transfer portal, which you believe to be absolutely accurate?

Nope, basing it on the eye test. Just using the portal as backup. Honestly it’s all B.S. with portal rankings but everybody on here uses them to crap all over the current group of commitments. Just pointing out the portal doesn’t particularly like Aberdeen. Zoom and Wilkins are ranked better, matter of fact Chandler is ranked higher than Aberdeen.

Personally I don’t think Pope has improved the team much while other teams have reloaded but I don’t feel I need to reiterate every thread, so I agree that gets old. DA though, in a system that compliments his skill set would be above average imo. He is a proven commodity with years of going against SEC top talent. You maybe right, but I don’t think you are. Next years group has never felt what it’s like to get beat, clawed, and hit every night through the SEC gauntlet.

Having said that, I respect your right to your own opinion. We are just killing time till season starts.

If Aberdeen gets another year and plays for Florida, does that mean he could've played another year for us ?? I think he could, but am not sure. With Diallo at the point now, I think Aberdeen would've been a very good shooting guard. Highly-experienced and a decent defender ...
He could’ve stayed but it was clear he wanted to go back to Florida. I know we need to land some more impact players but I do like our guards.

I learned from this thread and now understand.
Brea, Williams, Carr, Kriisa, Robinson and Butler could've stayed at their previous schools, rather than leave for their fifth playing year. I didn't know that and had erroneously assumed they had to leave and that's why I asked about Aberdeen. To my view, that now makes their coming here as a group even more impressive.
You’re thinking of “graduate transfers”, bro.

Aberdeen was solid. However, Zoom and Wilkins are both better than him IMO. Definitely better PGs, without a doubt.

I will speculate. DA felt slighted by Golden bringing in portal guys that looked like starters. UK offered more money and he jumped. DA is very talented, but not a charismatic leader. He was thrust into a tough role and really worked hard. It will serve him in the future. While a very good player, I never saw a guy who thrived as a team player. Letting him roll the dice at UF was better than letting him do that at UK. Wilkins and Diallo don’t have to worry about the old head getting a surprise extra year. Again, just conjecture from my view in the peanut gallery.
