...you know, I really could care less whether Brassell and Singleton come to State or Ole Miss. We are already deep at WR and have some good ones coming in (if they stick). But, if we trust Mullen, and he sticks around for a while, we really will be able to paint a picturefor future recruits. Mullen can now say to Brassell and Singleton, good luck to you, and we'll kick your *** next November. And then when things don't work out as they were promised, Mullen has that as evidence to put in front of future recruits. Even though those guys are going to OM, I still would rather be in our position because there's no comparison between the two. By the way, that brings me to my next point....if a recruit can look at the two situations, from coaches, to styles of offense, to fanbase, to campus culture, and then pick Ole Miss over State, he's got to be at least borderline retarded, so I'm glad he's not at State anyway.
So, bottom line, we all need to chill out. Everything is still good. Now, if CJ goes elsewhere, I reserve the right to freak out later. That's a recruit that we really need. And that's what it's about: recruiting for need. Folks gave us grief for our recruiting class last year, but the reality is that it was a great class for our needs, even if it wasn't loaded with stars. We'd like to have Brassell and Singleton, no doubt. But we don't need them. Stud linebackers? Yeah, we need those.
